UPSC 2022: The UPSC 2022 Notification for IAS Exam 2022 will be released on 2nd February 2022. UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conducts the Civil Services Exam. This is a national-level examination. The posts filed under this examination are the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Phases of UPSC 2022 Examination:

There are three phases of UPSC IAS:

• Phase 1: Preliminary Examination or CSAT (Objective Section)
• Phase 2: Main Examination (Subjective Section)
• Phase 3: Interview (Vocal Section)

• 3rd February 202: IAS Exam 2022 Notification has been released on 2nd February 2022 and IAS Prelims will be conducted on 5th June 2022 and the Mains Exam will be conducted on 16th September 2022.

UPSC 2022 Application Form:

• Get the application form from the official website – www.upsconline.nic.com
• There will be two parts of registration – Part I and Part II. It is important to fill both parts. Complete both the parts because incomplete parts will be considered incomplete and may lead to cancellation.
• Once you are through with filling the application form, submit it.

Steps to fill the Application Form:

• Visit the official website of UPSC- upsconline.nic.in
• Then click on the Exam Notifications tab.
• Click on Apply Online link.
• Click on the link available for Civil Services Part-I registration.
• Read the application form instructions carefully and click on Yes.
• Fill all the details carefully & submit the application form.
• Now come to the Part-II Registration.
• Then pay Application Fee.
• Upload scanned images of photograph (20 KB – 300 KB), signature (20 KB – 300 KB) and photo ID card (20 KB – 300 KB).
• Click on the ‘I Agree’ button after reading the declaration.
• On clicking the button, a page with a registration number will be generated.
• Note down the registration number or take a printout of the page.

UPSC Recruitment 2022 Application Fee:

After filling the UPSC 2022 Application Form, the candidate will also pay the application fee. It will be Rs 100/-. Pay this amount in cash at SBI bank. Else choose the other payment gateways like credit card and debit card. SC, ST, and female candidates will not pay an application form.

UPSC Recruitment 2022 Selection Procedure:

It is important for the candidate to clear the preliminary exam and then move to the main exam. After mains are over then there will be a personal interview.

UPSC IAS 2022 Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

• For the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service, and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
• For other services, a candidate must be either:
  (a) a citizen of India, or
  (b) a subject of Nepal, or
  (c) a subject of Bhutan, or
  (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  (e) The candidate of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age criteria:

• The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2020 i.e., he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1988 and not later than 1st August, 1999.

Education Qualification:

• The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities.
• Candidates who have appeared in the last year of the graduation and awaiting results are also eligible to apply for IAS preliminary exam. However, such candidates need to submit the proof of passing the requisite exam at the time of applying for the Main exam.

Number of attempts:

• Every candidate appearing at the examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted six attempts at the examination:

Note:

•  An attempt at a Preliminary Examination shall be deemed to be an attempt at the Civil Services Examination.
• If a candidate actually appears in any one paper in the Preliminary Examination, he/she shall be deemed to have made an attempt at the Examination.
• Notwithstanding the disqualification/cancellation of candidature, the fact of appearance of the candidate at the examination will count as an attempt.

UPSC 2022 Exam Pattern:

For Preliminary Exam:

• The Prelims Exam Paper will ask objective types of questions.
• The Exam consists of two Papers.
• It will carry a maximum of 400 marks in the subjects set out in sub-section.

For Mains Exam:

• The Mains Exam will have two types of papers.
• One will be of qualifying nature and the other will be of merit purpose.
• The first paper will constitute of two language exams, one in English and the other will be of candidates’ choice.
• The second paper will have 9 papers in total, out of which, 7 will be merit-based papers and 2 will be qualifying type paper.

Syllabus for Preliminary Exam:

• The paper will have two sets- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The candidate will be given two hours each to complete the paper. Each paper will be of 200 marks.
• Aptitude Test is the first phase of the preliminary examination via UPSC. The aim of this examination is to assess the aptitude of the candidates in solving the questions based on the Reasoning and Analytical.
• IAS Preliminary examination comprises of two papers for 200 marks each. The paper will be objective type and it is compulsory to appear in both the papers.
• The aim of the examination is to do the screening and after clearing the prelims, the candidate will move to the second phase.

Paper will have questions on the following topics:

• Current events of national and international importance.
• History of India and Indian National Movement.
• Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography Geography-Physically.
• Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
• Economic and Social Development – Poverty, Inclusion, Sustainable Development, Social Sector initiatives, Demographics, etc.
• General issues on Bio-diversity, Environmental Ecology, and Climate Change – hardly needed any subject specialization, General Science

Info about Preliminary Exam:

• Paper-I will be consisted of General Studies for 200 marks to be completed in the duration of 2 hours.
• Paper-II will consist of Aptitude Skills for 200 marks that need to be completed in the duration of 2 hours.
• Paper-III will consist of Comprehension, Decision-making & problem solving, Interpersonal skills including communication skills, Logical reasoning & analytical ability. General mental ability will be based on the syllabus of class X.

Syllabus for Phase 1:

• The exam will have 9 papers and two of them are qualifying papers for 300 marks each.
• It also includes anyone Indian Language.
• Compulsory English language.

Important to Note:

• From these two papers, one needs to be qualified and marks attained in them won’t be counted.
• The rest of the 7 papers need to be done in any of the languages given in the Eighth Schedule of Constitution. Given below is the information about 7 papers:
• Paper 1 is an essay to be written in the language of one’s choice for 250 marks.
• Paper-II is General Studies- I (Geography of the World and Society, History and Indian Heritage and Culture) for 250 marks
• Paper-III is General Studies- II (Constitution, Polity, Governance, International relations and Social Justice) for 250 marks
• Paper-IV is General Studies- III (Economic Development, Environment, Technology, Bio-diversity, Security and Disaster Management) for 250 marks
• Paper-V is General Studies- IV (Aptitude, Ethics, and Integrity) consisted of 250 marks
• Paper-VI is Optional Subject – Paper 1 for 250 marks
• Paper-VII is Optional Subject – Paper II. Candidate can opt literature as an optional subject. This paper will be for 250 marks

1. b) Info about Main Exam:

• Paper I, will be one of the Indian Languages Chosen From The Prescribed List for 300 marks.
• Paper-II, English for 300 marks.
• Paper III, Essay for 250 marks.
• Paper IV/V/VI/VII General Studies (with 250 Marks for Each Paper).
• Paper VIII & IX Optional Subject 1 for 500 marks.
• The written exam will be for 1750 marks.
• Those who acquire minimum marks in the written exam of UPSC main examination will move to the next phase. It consists of an Interview round or personality test. Board will commence the interview of the candidate. The interview will be taken by the Board to make out the social traits and the interest in the current affairs.
• This round will also analyze the personal aptness for public services. Other qualities that will be checked include variety and depth of interest, intellectual and moral integrity, mental alertness, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgment, the ability for social cohesion and leadership, etc. Candidate can use the preferred language during the interview as translators will be there for the purpose.

Info about Interview Test: This test will consist of 275 marks. The written test for 1750 marks and the total of two examinations will be 2025 marks

Interview Test:

• The candidate will be interviewed by a Board who will have before them a record of his career. He will be asked questions on matters of general interest.
• The object of the interview is to assess the personal suitability of the candidate for a career in public service by a Board of competent and unbiased observers.
• The test is intended to judge the mental caliber of a candidate.
• In broad terms, this is really an assessment of not only his intellectual qualities but also social traits and his interest in current affairs.
• Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, the balance of judgment, variety, and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity.

UPSC 2022 Admit Card:

UPSC 2022 Admit Card will be published through the Online mode. The candidate must download the Admit Card for the Exam. The Admit card contains the details like the candidate’s name, exam venue, roll number, etc.

UPSC 2022 Result:

UPSC 2022 Result will announce through online mode. Candidates can check the Result by login their Id & Password.

UPSC 2022 Cut off Marks:

There will be the announcement of cut-off for keeping the limit to the applicants recruited to the post of IAS. CUT off marks will help in making fair decisions during selection for the reputed post of Indian Administrative Officer. The Cut off marks will go for all three different stages.
