VNIT Ph.D Admission 2023: Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology or VNIT located in Nagpur is a chief government engineering and research foundation in India. VNIT Ph.D Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants should have aM.Tech/ ME/ M.Arch/ M.Sc /M.Plan degree and must have passed the NET/ GATE examination earlier.
• At least 5 years’ experience in Business is also obligatory.
• For Ph.D in Physics, candidates must have a post-graduate degree in particular or any associated subject. A past GATE/NET qualified candidate or an applicant with a valid score of any corresponding national examination in the past can apply for the doctoral degree.
• For Ph.D in Applied Mechanics B. Tech./ B.E. / AMIE and M.Tech/ME can apply. A past GATE/NET qualified candidate or an applicant with a valid score of any corresponding national examination in the past can apply for the doctoral degree.
• For Ph.D in Mathematics, a candidate must be a postgraduate in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. A past GATE/NET qualified candidate or an applicant with a valid score of any corresponding national examination in the past can apply for the doctoral degree.
• For Ph.D in Chemistry, a candidate must be a post graduate in Chemistry (Inorganic / Organic/ Physical Chemistry/ Analytical / Biochemistry and other similar specializations). Applicant should have passed GATE/ NET score or corresponding national-based exam in the past.
• For Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering, an applicant must be M.Tech/ M.E in the related branch and passed GATE or corresponding national level exam in the past.
• For Ph.D in Civil Engineering, an applicant must be B.Tech / B.E / AMIE (Civil) /M.Tech / M.E in any stream of Civil Engineering and have passed GATE or corresponding national level exam in past.
• For Ph,D in Electrical Engineering B.Tech./B.E in the related subject and valid GATE score or similar national exam in past.
• For Ph.D in Chemical Engineering B.Tech./B.E in the related subject and valid GATE score or similar national exam in past
• For Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering B.Tech / B.E / AMIE /M.Tech / M.E in any stream of Engineering and have passed GATE or corresponding national level exam in past.
• For Ph.D in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering: M.Tech / M.E in Metallurgy/ Mechanical / Material Engineering / Industrial /Production Chemical. A valid GATE score or similar national level exam in the past is the pre-requisite.
• For Ph.D in Electronics & Communication Engineering B.Tech / B. E. /AMIETE /AMIE /B.Sc.(Engg.) of four years period in required branch and M.Tech/M.E./M.S.(at least two-year program) in a similar branch or departments with needed specialization and the aspirant must have passed GATE in the past.
• All the overhead prerequisites should be accepted with the lowest score of First Class at UG or PG level

VNIT Ph.D Admission 2023 Application Form:

Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps for acquiring and submitting the application form.

• Firstly, candidates have to check all necessary information from the official website.
• As registration procedure applicants need to submit all required details about their name, contact number, father’s name, date of birth and email id in the prescribed field.
• The applicants must complete the application form correctly with all the required details before submitting it.
• Candidates must send the passport-size photographs, self-attested copies of valid certificates with a signature in the prescribed format of the application form to the University office with a copy of SB Collect receipt.
• Candidates need to make necessary payments as application fees to complete the application procedure.

VNIT Ph.D Admission Fee:

• The Applicant has to pay Rs 500 as the application fee.
• The application fee can be given online through “State Bank Collect”.
• In the application form, the candidate needs to refer to this SBI Collect Ref. No, & also have to take a printout of the receipt.

Exam Pattern:

• A written examination will be organized in the individual departments on the date mentioned in the information booklet.
• The written examination is mandatory to appear for all the applicants.
• Candidates will be selected on the basis of conduct in the written examination followed by an interview.
• A candidate needs 40% to become eligible for attending the interview.
• The interviews will be organised in the respective departments as per the timetable is given in the booklet.
• It will be an offline mode examination with 100 questions to be answered within 60 minutes,

• Mechanical Engineering comprises of Heat Transfer, Engineering Thermodynamics Fluid Mechanics and Theory of Machines.
• Electrical Engineering comprises of Control Systems, Power Systems, Electrical machines, Power Electronics, Switchgear and Protection.
• Civil Engineering comprises of Environmental Engg, Transportation Engg, Water Resources Engg., Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management & Concrete Engg.
• Electronics & Communication Engineering comprises of Electronic Devices & Circuits, Digital Circuits & Microprocessors, AnalogCircuits and Electromagnetic.
• VLSI & Nanotechnology comprises of Electronic Devices & Circuits, Digital Circuits & Microprocessors, Analog Circuits, and Electromagnetic.
• Computer Science Engineering comprises of Programming & Data Structures, System Programming / OS, Compiler, Theory of Computation.
• Chemical Engineering comprises of Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Fluid Mechanics Chemical Reaction Engineering, Process Calculations.
• Metallurgical & Materials Engineering comprises of Foundry Technology, Physical metallurgy Extractive Metallurgy, Mechanical processing.
• Mining Engineering – Surface and Mine Environment Engineering, Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, Drilling, Rock excavation engineering and blasting, Exploration and Mineralogy.
• Applied Mechanics – Strength of Materials, Engineering Mechanics, Theory of Structures.
• Architecture & Planning – Art &Design, Architecture, Building Sciences & Technology.
• Mathematics – Art &Design, Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Ordinary Differential Equations.
• Humanities with English the Syllabus as per NET curriculum in English, Sociology – not as per the NET syllabus in Sociology, Management Curriculum as per the NET in management, Psychology will include curriculum as per the NET in Psychology.

Admit Card:

Candidates completing the application form successfully can only avail their admit cards. Admit card is an imperative paper for the candidate as it enables him/her to seat for the written examination and further helps in their recruitment procedure. Candidates must keep it properly for further use.

Result:

Results for both the written test followed by the interview round will provide the qualified candidates an opportunity to pursue their doctoral degree under Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology or VNIT with a regular monthly stipend.
