EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

Group X (Except Education Instructor Trades) – 

• Applicants must have passed class XII or equivalent test with subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, and English with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
• Candidate must have passed Diploma Course in Engineering (in any stream) from a Government recognized Polytechnic/Institute with at least 50% marks.

Group Y ’ (Except IAF(S) and Musician Trades) –

• The candidate must have passed the Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Exam in any stream/subjects approved by Central/State Education Boards with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.
• Besides this, the candidate must have passed two years vocational course with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks specifically in English in the vocational course.

Group Y Medical Assistant Trade –

• If you want to apply for Group Y Medical Assistant Trade then you must have attained 10+2 / Intermediate / equivalent examination with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.

AGE CRITERIA:

• Candidates with an age range between 16th January 2001 to 29th December 2004 may apply.
• If the candidate completes all the stages of the selection process then the upper age limit to apply will be 21 years.

PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST:

• The recruitment tests the physical fitness of the candidate. Candidate must complete 1.6 Kilometers run in 06 minutes and 30 seconds.
• Besides this, they also need to complete10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats within the given time limit.

Adaptability Test- 1 (For both Group ‘ X’ & Group ‘Y’ Trades) – Those who clear the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) need to go through the Adaptability Test-I which is an objective type written test. This will help to acknowledge the candidate’s employment in IAF. It also includes deployment in various geographic terrains, weather, and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test- 2 (For both Group ‘ X’ & Group ‘Y’ Trades)  – Those who clear  Adaptability Test – I will undergo Adaptability Test- II. Adaptability Test- II aims at selecting the candidates who adapt to the Indian Air Force environment and able to adjust themselves to the military lifestyle.

MEDICAL FITNESS TEST:

1. Height:

• • The minimum height of the candidate should be 152.5 cms
  • The minimum accepted height for IAF(P) trade is 165 Cms (For North-East and the Hilly States) and 175 Cms (For other States)
  • Minimum height for Auto Tech trade need to be 162.5 Cms (For North-East and the Hilly States) and 165 Cms (For other States)

The NE and Hill state consisted of Gorkhas, Kumaonis, Garhwalis, Assamese, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Sikkim, and hilly areas of Uttaranchal.

2. Chest:

The chest expansion should be 5 cm at least.

3. Weight:

The weight of the candidate should be in proportion to the height and age. the minimum weight should be 55 Kg for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only.

4. Corneal Surgery: For recruitment, (PRK/LASIK) is unaccepted.
5. Hearing: Normal hearing should be there. They can hear the forced whisper from 6 meters away with each ear.
6. Dental: The candidate should have 14 dental points with a healthy set of teeth and gums.
7. General Health: There should not be any sort of appendages. The candidate should be free from any sort of active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability, or infection and skin ailments. The candidate must have medical fitness to perform well under any climatic condition.

Application Fees:

The application fee to apply for Air Force X & Y Group Recruitment 2022 should be Rs.250/-. This has to ba paid for the online test. Candidates can pay the application fee via modes such as Debit Cards/Credit Cards/Internet Banking. The examination fee can be submitted via Challan at any Axis Bank Branch.

How To Apply for Air Force X & Y Group?

Here are the steps to apply for the test:

1. First, go to the official website www.airmenselection.cdac.in or www.careerindianairforce.cdac.in
2. You will find a new page on the screen. Users need to register first.
3. Click on the New User Register
4. Enter all the details such as the mobile number and email ID for registration.
5. The candidate will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number and email.
6. Submit the form.
7. After that, a login ID and Password will be sent to the registered mobile number and email address.
8. Login with the help of Registration Number and Password. Then choose the post.
9. Fill the details in the application form
10. Submit the application fee using online modes such as Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking
11. Upload the scanned colored photo and Signature (in English or Hindi) in JPEG format.
12. Now, sign in using the Registration Number as well as Password in the link for “UPLOAD” and upload the documents.
13. Finally, take a print of the application form and then submit it.

Air Force X & Y Group 2022 Selection Process:

The selection process consisted of three phases such as:

• First Phase: Online Written Test
• Second Phase: Physical Fitness Test, AT-I, and AT-II Test At Airmen Selection Centre of IAF
• Third Phase: Medical Fitness Test, At a Medical Centre of IAF

Exam Pattern:

The first phase (written test) consisted of the following sections. Candidate needs to prepare from 10+2:

• Group ‘X’ Trades, for 1 hour. It includes the subjects such as English, Physics, and Mathematics
• Group ‘Y’ Trades will be for 45 Minutes and the subjects will be English, Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA)
• Together Group ‘X&Y’ Trades for 85 Minutes. It includes subjects such as English, Physics, and Mathematics and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA)

Here is the marking pattern:

• The candidate will receive 1 mark for every correct answer
• marks will be given on the unattempted question.
• There will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.

The candidate needs to clear the phase first for appearing in the second phase. It includes Document Verification. The candidate will get a separate admit card through their registered ID. Appear with the list of documents required for admission.

The third phase will be the Medical Examination.

Air Force X & Y Group Salary:

During the training, the candidate will receive Rs. 14,600/- on the monthly basis. After the completion of the training, the minimum pay scale will be as follows:

• Group ‘X’ Trades (Except Education Instructor Trade) will get Rs.33,100/- on the monthly basis along with the Dearness allowance
• Group ‘Y’ [Except IAF(S) and Musician Trades] will get the salary of Rs. 26,900/- per month along with the Dearness allowance
