About Tamil Nadu TNPSC Civil Judicial: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is the reputed examination that commences once a year. The candidate will achieve the post of Civil Judge after clearing the examination. Interested applicants must acquire thorough knowledge about the entrance test such as eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and exam syllabus, etc.

TNPSC Civil Judicial Exam 2022 Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate must be a citizen of India and belong to the state of Tamilnadu. Applicant must have good command over the Tamil language as far as reading, writing, and speaking is concerned. Check the age criteria given below:

Age Criteria:

  • Practicing Advocates/Pleaders and Assistant Public Prosecutors belonging to SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC, BCM and destitute widows of all castes must have the minimum age of 25 years and maximum 40 years. However, applicants belonging to other castes must have minimum age 25 years and maximum 35 years.
  • The fresh law graduates of all categories must have a minimum age of 22 years and maximum 27 years.

Educational Qualification:

Practicing Advocates/Pleaders and Assistant Public Prosecutors:

  • Candidates from this category must be possessed with the degree in Law from the University in India or any University incorporated by or under the Central Act or a State Act or an Institution recognized by the UGC, or possessed with the equivalent qualification and enrolled in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu or in the Bar Council of any other State in India
  • Candidate must be actively practicing as an Advocate or Pleader in any Court on the date of Notification for recruitment.
  • Applicant must be the Assistant Public Prosecutor with a minimum of 3 years of experience as an Advocate or Assistant Public Prosecutor.

Fresh Law Graduates:

  • The candidate must be possessed with a Law degree from the recognized University.
  • Applicant must be enrolled as an advocate
  • Besides this, Reserved categories (SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC(OBCM) and BCM) must have scored at least 45% Marks in Law Graduation and 50% for other categories
  • Also, the applicant must have acquired with the degree of graduation within the duration of 3 years prior to the date of notification.

Tamil Nadu TNPSC Civil Judicial 2022 Application Process:

Candidates are required to apply via online mode. Make sure to use login ID and password to apply for the test. If you have registered in One Time Registration then you may use the existing user ID and password to fill the application form.

One Time Registration (OTR):

  • It is the collection of information from candidates and providing a separate dashboard to maintain the profile.
  • To apply for One Time Registration, scan the soft copies of the passport-sized photograph and signature in CD/DVD/Pen drive.
  • Make sure to provide the details such as SSLC Register Number, Month & Year of Passing and Name of the Board while online Registration.
  • It is important to provide the relevant e-mail address and mobile number for OTR to receive all the messages from TNPSC to the registered e-mail ID and mobile number.

Tamil Nadu TNPSC Civil Judicial Exam 2022 Process to Apply:

  • First of all sign in by using the user ID as well as password
  • Fill all the crucial details needed for Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service application
  • Once you submit the details, pay the Exam fee and One Time Registration fee of Rs 650/-
  • You can make the payment either online/offline. The modes can be used such as Net Banking/Credit card/Debit card
  • If you are paying offline, then submit the amount at State Bank of India/Indian Bank by challan.

  • The negotiable instruments act, 1981
  • The transfer of property act, 1882
  • The Indian contract act, 1872
  • The specific relief act, 1963
  • The constitution of India
  • The Tamil Nadu buildings act, 1960 and Tamil Nadu regulation of rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants act, 2017 (Tamil Nadu act 42 of 2017)
  • The code of criminal procedure, 1973

  • The criminal law (amendment) acts

Translation Paper: In the translation paper, the candidate will get passages to transfer from English to Tamil and vice versa. These passages will be related to Pleadings, depositions, orders, judgments, and documents

Law Paper I:

  • The code of civil procedure, 1908

  • The Indian evidence act, 1872
  • Principles of pleading and the constitution of India (as amended)

Law Paper-II:

  • Framing the issues and writing of judgments in civil cases

Law paper III:

Exam Pattern:

Tamil Nadu TNPSC Civil Judicial Exam will consist of two papers – Prelims and Main. The details about the same are as follows:

Prelims:

  • The preliminary exam will be consisted of 100 Multiple Choice Questions
  • Each question will be for 1 mark
  • Paper will appear in Tamil and English languages both
  • There will be a deduction of ½ mark when found incorrect
  • The candidate will get 2 hours to complete the paper
  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks attained in the Prelims.

Marks need to Qualify:

  • SC/ST category applicants must acquire 30 marks out of 100 to qualify the exam
  • MBC/DC/BC(OBCM)/BCM need to attain 35 marks out of 100 to qualify the exam
  • And Other Category applicants must obtain 40 marks to clear the test.

Main Exam:

  • Translation Exam will be for 3 hours
  • Law paper I will be for 3 hours
  • Law paper II will be for 3 hours
  • Law paper III will be for 3 hours

Admit Card:

The admit card will be provided to those who have completed the application form process successfully. A separate admit card will be given for both prelims and the main Exam. Download the hall ticket and check the details mentioned in it. Make sure to carry the print of the admit card along with the relevant photo identity proof amongst – Voter ID Card, AADHAR Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, or Photo ID authorized by Gazetted Officers.
