UGC NETUGC NET: UGC NET is a national-level entrance test that is conducted by NTA. This examination is conducted to select the best candidates who are eligible for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). UGC NET June Application form has been released in August. UGC-NET is conducted twice every year. All the candidates who succeed in this exam would be eligible for the recruitment as Lecturers & also for the JRF-ship in certain areas. Due to COVID-19, the UGC NET December has been postponed. The schedule of June UGC NET has been delayed. In order to regularize the UGC NET examination cycles, the National Testing Agency (NTA), with the concurrence of UGC, has merged both UGC-NET of December and June cycles so that they be conducted together in CBT mode. The Application process is therefore being reopened for the new applicants to fill in and submit their forms.

UGC NET Application Form:

UGC NET Application Form submission On-Line & Fee deposit through the Bank Challan can be done in August. After this has been done, the candidates will have to send a hard copy of these forms. It can reach before September.

Application Fees

For the General Category candidates- Rs. 1000 & for the OBC Category candidates: Rs. 500/-, for SC/ ST/ PH Category candidates: Rs.250/-. All the candidates can pay the application fee using a debit card/ credit card/net banking or PAYTM.

Steps to Apply UGC NET Exam:

  • Candidates must visit the official website i.e, https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/
  • Then, candidates should select the tab – Application Form for UGC NET June – on the homepage.
  • After that, they should select the post and fill the application form carefully.
  • Then, they should press the ‘next’ button and upload their photograph.
  • The submission of the application fee should follow this after filling the application form.
  • Then, take a printout of the application form for future use.

Age Criteria:

  • The age limit will be 30 for the Junior Research Fellowship.
  • For the Assistant Professor NO age limit.
  • The age relaxation for OBC-NCL, PwD, ST, SC, and women category candidates will be 5 Years.
  • For LLM Degree and Research Experience candidates, the age relaxation will be 3 Years.

Qualification Requirement:

  • Exam Qualifying: For the UGC NET Qualification will be a Master’s degree or equivalent from the UGC recognized university. If candidates have a Ph.D. degree they can also apply.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must have 55% marks in Master’s degree and reserved categories candidates have 50% Marks.
  • Appearing Candidates: If candidates appear the master’s degree final semester they can also apply.

Exam Pattern:

  • Exam Mode: UGC NET Exam will be conducted online (CBT).
  • Papers: There are two parts of the Exam. Both the papers will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. There will be no break between papers.
  • Duration: The Duration of the Exam will be 3 Hours (180 minutes).
  • Number of Questions: The total number of questions will be 150. Which is divided into 2 Papers. First Paper will be 50 and the Second paper will be 100 questions. Candidates need to attempt all questions it’s compulsory.
  • Type of Questions: These questions papers will be objective.
  • Subjects: 1st paper will be General Aptitude Questions and the Second paper will be subjective which is candidates choose during the submit the application form.
  • The medium of Paper: In this exam candidates have the option to choose the exam the paper medium. there is two medium of exam Hindi or English.
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, candidates will get 2 marks.
  • Negative Marking: Not allow Negative Marking.

The exam will be divided into 3 parts i.e, Part  A, Part  B & Part C.

  • Part A: This section of the exam, consists of a General  Aptitude with an emphasis on logical reasoning,  quantitative comparison, analytical&numerical ability, graphical analysis, series formation, puzzles, etc.
  • Part B: This part will consist of a conventional Multiple-Choice-questions,  which will cover the topics that have to give in the syllabus.
  • Part C: This part will utilize to check the candidate’s concepts o science and/or the application of scientific concepts. There would relate questions that will ask with an analytical nature. The candidates would have to apply the scientific knowledge  to solve the given scientific problem

Syllabus:

For the Paper Ist and Paper-II, UGC NET syllabus candidates can check via online mode. During the registration, the aspirant chooses to subject the syllabus may be different.

For Paper I:

The syllabus for UGC NET Paper I  questions will be Intended to assess the teaching, Generic Nature, Research Aptitude of the Students. Candidates must have good knowledge in Comprehension, Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, and Divergent Thinking.

Unit-I Teaching Aptitude  

  • Teaching Concept: Objectives, Characteristics, basic requirements,
  • Levels of teaching (Memory, Understanding, and Reflective),
  • Factors affecting teaching related to Teacher, Support material, Learner,  Instructional facilities, Learning environment, and Institution.
  • Learner’s characteristics: Characteristics of adolescent and adult learners (Academic, Social, Emotional, and Cognitive), Individual differences.
  • Teaching Support System: Traditional, Modern, and ICT based.
  • Methods of teaching in Institutions of higher learning: Teacher centered vs. Learner-centered methods; Off-line vs. On-line methods (Swayam, Swayamprabha, MOOCs, etc.).
  • Evaluation Systems: Elements and Types of evaluation, Evaluation in Choice Based Credit System in Higher education, Computer-based testing, Innovations in evaluation systems.

Unit-II Research Aptitude

    I have pursued my B.Tech in mechanical engineering and now i am pursuing M.tech in nanoscience and technology.
    Am I eleigible to apply UGC NET 2021 since those are 2 different subjects.
