AP ECET 2023: The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance test is referred to as the AP ECET. This examination is conducted by the JNTUA on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. This examination serves as the gateway for the Diploma engineers, the B Sc graduates and the pharmacy students who try getting admission under the lateral entry scheme to the 2nd year of the BE/Btech/B pharmacy programs that are offered by the institutions approved by the AICTE/PCI or the University of Andhra Pradesh.
AP ECET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:
- In order to apply for this examination, the candidate will have to belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh. They will also have to serve the local or the non-local status that has been laid down by the Andhra Pradesh Educational and Technology institutions., under the Regulation of admission order, 1974.
- It is also essential for the candidate to have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and pharmacy/technology from the State Board of Technical Education of the State of Andhra Pradesh or any other Diploma from institutes recognized by the Andhra Pradesh government or approved by the AICTE.
- If the candidate passes the 3-year B.Sc degree with Mathematics, as one of the subjects, even then he or she will be eligible to apply for this examination.
- The students who are pursuing the Diploma course and are in their final semester are also eligible to appear for the AP ECET examination.
- The candidate will have to pass the Diploma in Engineering or pharmacy or technology or B.Sc with at least 45% and if they belong to the reserved category, then they will have to clear with at least 40% marks.

AP ECET 2023 Application Form:
- The candidate will be able to get the form on the official website.
- In order to view the form better and download it faster it is necessary for the candidate to have either Mozilla firefox 3.6 and above or Google chrome or internet explorer with a version of 6 or above as browsers.
- The resolution of the screen will have to be 600×800
- Adobe Acrobat reader of 8.0 or above
- It is also necessary to uninstall the script blockers and disable the pop-ups
In order to register for this examination, the candidate will have to follow the steps mentioned below:
- The fee has to be paid
- Know the status of the payment
- Fill out the application form after paying the fee
- After submitting, take a print of the application form
Once the fee is paid, the candidate will have to click on the “fee payment” tab. He or she will then have to fill up all the necessary details that include the following:
- Hall ticket or the admit card number of the qualifying examination
- The name of the candidate
- The date of birth of the candidate
- Mobile number of the giardia/parents/relatives of the candidate
- E-mail id
- An alternate mobile number
- The amount of the fee
Application Fee:
- The application fee is Rs.500. Apart from the application fee, there is also a processing fee that will be charged at the time of the fee payment.
- The candidate will have to pay the fee either by net banking or debit or credit card
- If the candidate wants, the registration fee can also be paid by cash
In case the payment is made and the website gets disconnected, you can check out the status of the payment by clicking on the option that says, ” know your payment status”. If it says, “payment details not found”, then you will have to make the payment again because in the last transaction the payment was not cleared. The amount of the failed transaction will be credit back to the debited account within 5 working days.
Exam Pattern:
- The question paper for this examination is only available in English
- The duration of the examination is for 3 hours
- There would be a total of 200 multiple choice questions
- The candidate will get 1 marks for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for wrong answers

Admit Card:
- The candidate will be able to download the admit card from the official website. In order to download it the candidate will have to provide the registration number, the qualifying examination admit card number, the date of birth.
- The candidate will have to carry the admit card on the day of the examination. Even after the date of the examination, the candidate will have to preserve the hall ticket as it will be required at the time of admission.
Cut Off:
The candidate will have to get a minimum of 25% marks in the aggregate in 4 subjects. This means that in order to qualify, the candidate will have to get at least 50 out of 200. For the SC/ST candidates, there are no qualifying marks.
Answer Key:
The candidate will be able to check out the answer key online on the official website. This answer key will have all the correct answers to the questions that were asked in the examination. This will be published in the PDF format and so in order to download it, login details will not be required. The answer key will help the students get an idea about the marks that they will be getting in the examination.
In case the students find any mistake in the answer key they can surely challenge it. But there is a deadline within which it is necessary for the students to submit the objections. Once the errors are re-checked, the answer key will be published once again. The resulting score is calculated based on the final answer key.
Result:
The candidates will be able to check the result online by providing the hall ticket number and the registration number online by logging into their official website. In case there are two or more students who have got the same marks then the tie-breaking criteria are taken into consideration. This is different for different streams.
