Calcutta University Admission 2022: Calcutta University is a communal University located in Kolkata in the state of West Bengal, India. This University is acclaimed as one of the most prevalent longstanding Universities in India. There are countless specialized and non-professional courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The university also confers Doctoral degrees to the desiring and deserving candidates. Calcutta University popularly known as CU conducts Engineering courses for the individuals who apply and qualify WBJEE 2022 and JEE MAIN 2022. All applicants are advised to be more cautious while filling the application form for admission in Calcutta University. Applicants need to keep in mind that they need to provide all valid information as required by the University at the time of admission. The University provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of arts, commerce, science, business administration, law & engineering. The university also conducts B.Ed and M.Ed programs.

Calcutta University Admission 2022 Application Form:

  All applicants need to submit their application form via online mode on the authorized website of the University. This application form will come out in the month of May 2022. This application form needs to be appropriately filled up by the desiring candidate with a usable and valid email address, contact no, applicant’s name, address, academic particulars, course inclination, date of birth, etc. Candidate must confirm to provide the Passport-sized images & signature in the format as mentioned by the University. The time continues till July 2022 for submission of the filled application form.  Without any provision to edit the application form must contain all valid information about the applicant or else the form will be dismissed by the authority. Applicants are further asked to collect the confirmation page of the application form submission for future use.

Application fee:

On line mode will be used for submitting the application fee. Students can approach for online payments by using net banking/ credit card or debit card for the application fee submission. The list for the application fee payment for varied categories can be acquired from the certified website www.caluniv.ac.in>admission.

• For UG degree programs – the General category needs pay Rs 100 as application charges whereas candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST BPL/PWD categories need to pay Rs.25 for the same. The Challan method of SBI in offline may be utilized.
• For PG degree programs- The general candidate has to pay Rs 200/- and Rs 100 is assigned for SC/ST/ BPL/ OBC/PWD category applicants. General Candidates applied in BA. LLB have to give Rs 500 and Rs 250 is allocated for the candidates who belong to the reserved category.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants need to follow certain eligibility norms to get them enrolled in different courses offered by the University.

UG Course guideline- For admission in any stream related to Arts, Science and Commerce at UG level it is obligatory to qualify 10th and 12th Board examination. General category students need to have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks are required for the applicants about the reserved category. For pursuing any Technical courses at UG level under Calcutta University an applicant needs to have a scorecard of JEE Main/WbJEE.  Applicants who are on the verge of senior secondary examination can also participate. Student of any recognized board is allowed.

PG Course guideline- Applicants need to pass Graduation from any recognised University in order to seek admission in the PG courses offered by the University. General category candidates need to score at least 45% marks while 40% of marks are desired from reserved category candidates to get admission. The gate score card is mandatory for Technical courses. Final year UG pursuing candidate is also eligible to apply for the PG program in any stream offered by the University.

Exam Pattern:

Every willing candidate should read thoroughly details of the examination pattern of Calcutta University 2022 before filling the application form as it will lead a student to carry good marks in the entrance test. Apart from B.Tech Programs, no entrance test will be there for UG courses. The result and rank of WCJEE2022 and JEE Main 2022 will be the only criteria for admission in B.Tech.

Admission System:

The admission stage includes filling of the application form, organizing entrance test, result announcement and process of counselling.

No entrance test is required for Undergraduate courses. Calcutta University will organize admission tests only for enrolment in PG courses. Only B.E/ B. Tech admission is dependent on the result or scorecard of WBJEE/JEE Main.

Result:

The Merit list will come up in the last week of July 2022 via online method. Admission in Calcutta University is directly effected based on the merit list published by the university. At the time of counselling original documents relating to admission must be produced before the counselling authority. In absence of the same the admission will be canceled by any means.

Counselling:

The counselling session will be arranged immediately after the entrance result for selected courses are announced. The counselling session tentatively will take place in August 2022. Candidates need to carry original as well as Xerox copies of all their academic records including their entrance scorecard in the counselling round.
