CUSB 2023 Postgraduate Admission:
The University proffers immense courses at the postgraduation level. The admission is given to the postgraduate courses after the completion of graduation with relevant scores from some recognised board/university. Applicants must be possessed a valid score in the GATE examination for admission to the MTech programme. Here is the eligibility criteria and selection procedure for Post graduate programmes:
- M.Tech in Computer Science: Candidate must have attained at least 60% marks in BE/ B.Tech/ MCA. However, the selection is based on the relevant scores in GATE 2023.
- LLM Law & Legislation: To do this course, the minimum percentage should be 50% marks in LLB.
- MA (History) – To apply for this course, the candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline with 55% marks from some recognised board.
- Communication & Media Studies: Candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline with 55% aggregate marks from some recognised board.
- Development Studies: Applicant must be a graduate in any discipline with minimum 50% marks.
- MA (Psychology) Candidate must have done graduation degree in Psychology/ Human Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Life Sciences/Medical Science/ Engineering with at least 50% marks.
- MA (English) – This course requires graduation in English as a core subject and 50% marks in aggregate.
- MA (Hindi) – To apply for this course, the applicant must have scored 50% marks in graduation.
- Political Science & International Relations: To do post-graduation in this field, the candidate must have acquired at least 50% marks in graduation in Arts/Social Sciences/Humanities.
- MA (Sociology) – The minimum qualification is graduation with 50% marks
- MA (Economics) – To apply for this course, the applicant must have acquired at least 55% marks, Bachelors, in Economics/ Commerce or 60% marks in Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics.
- M.Sc. Biotechnology: The course requires at least B.Sc. in Biotechnology/ B.Sc. Hons. in Life Sciences with 55% marks.
- MA (Bioinformatics) – A graduate degree in Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/Biological Sciences/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Agricultural Science/ Pharmaceutical Science/Veterinary Science/ Medical Science with aggregate of 55% marks is the requirement.
- M.Sc (Life Science) –B.Sc. in Life Sciences with 55% marks is the minimum requirement.
- M.Sc. (Environmental Science) – B.Sc. in Life Sciences with 55% marks is the minimum requirement.
- M.Sc. (Computer Science) – Candidate must have completed B.Sc. (CA/ IT/ Electronics with Mathematics) or BCA with at least 55% marks.
- M.Sc. (Chemistry) – Applicant must be possessed with the degree of graduation in Mathematics/Stats with a minimum 55% aggregate.
- M.Com: An applicant must be possessed a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from some recognised board/university with at least 50% marks.
- M.Ed: The minimum requirement is B.Ed. or Four Year Integrated B.A B.Ed/B.Sc. B.Ed. degree with a minimum of 50% marks.
Note: Applicants belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD categories will be given the relaxation of 5% to the aggregate score of the qualifying exam.
Integrated Programmes Admission:
There are three major integrated programmes offered by the Central University of South Bihar. All of them are fully explained below:
- BA + B.Ed: The minimum requirement is 10+2 or equivalent exam in any stream from the recognized Board/ University with at least 50% marks.
- B.Sc. + B.Ed: Applicant must have completed 10+2 or equivalent exam in Science stream with minimum 50% marks
- BA + LLB: To apply for this course, the candidate must have done 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with minimum 45% marks
Note:
- For all the above three integrated programmes, the relevant rank in CUCET is also a requirement along with the minimum qualification
- The candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC categories are given the relaxation of 5% to the aggregate score of the qualifying exam.
- UR/NRI/NRI sponsored applicants must have age above 20 years and SC/ST/ OBC candidates must have above 22 years as on July 01 to apply for these courses.
CUCET 2023 Exam:
Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2023 will be commenced by 14 central universities of India. It will be an offline test for undergraduate and post-graduation courses, via online mode for Doctoral programs. This paper will be consisted of two parts and candidates need to solve 100 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions)

- Applicant must have completed post graduation in Biological Sciences/Agricultural Science/Pharmaceutical Science / Veterinary Science/Medical Science/Physical Science /Chemical Science/Computer Science/IT with 55% marks.
- A Relaxation of 5% marks or an equivalent relaxation of Grade will be given.
- Aspirants must be possessed with the degree of post graduation in any of the above disciplines with specialisation in Bio-Informatics or must have Master’s Degree in Bio-Informatics will be given preference.

- PhD in Mathematics: Master’s Degree in Mathematics with 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent Grade B in UGC 7 point scale. However, the relaxation of 5% of marks will be given to reserved category applicants.
Note–
A candidate who is qualified in a national level test such as (NET-JRF), NET-LS (without fellowship), GATE, SLET accredited by the UGC / Central or State Govt. are exempted from appearing in the university entrance test for admission to the PhD Programmes.
But the aspirants will have to apply for the programmes by filling out the online application form and requisite fee.
