Cotton University Admission 2023: Cotton University (CU) came into being by the Government of Assam in the year 2017. Cotton College (116 years old college) has been upgraded to this new University. The university is recognized by UGC. The aim of Cotton University is to provide world-class research and teaching and to provide skills to overcome the challenges via learning and assessment methods.

- To seek admission to the university, register on the college’s website. To register and create your own account, provide the following details such as course Applied for and subject list.

Make a payment of the application fee:
Outstation applicants may send a copy of the filled application form in the PDF format with scanned copies of the supporting documents as email attachments to [email protected]. Applicants will pay Rs. 800.00 including CPGEE Fee of Rs. 300.00 as an application fee to apply to a desirable course.

Eligibility Criteria:
Check the eligibility criteria before applying for admission to Cotton University:
- To apply for Ph.D., the candidate must be possessed a Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 50% marks. Along with this, the applicant must have a valid NET/SLET score.
- To apply for B.Sc. in Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science and IT, Physics, Statistics, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Anthropology, Economics, the applicant must have successfully completed Class XII with at least 50% marks in PCM.
- To apply for B.A. in Geography, Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, English, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Sanskrit, Anthropology, Economics, Education, History, and Philosophy, the candidate must have successfully completed Class XII
- To apply for BCA, the applicant must have acquired at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in aggregate along with English as a mandatory subject.

Selection Criteria:
Admission to the above-mentioned courses will be based on the applicant’s merit in Class XII.
- For admission to M.Sc. in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Botany, Environmental Biology and Wildlife Sciences, and Zoology, the applicant must be possessed with a B.Sc. degree with at least 50% marks.
- For MA in Geography, Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Sanskrit, Anthropology, Economics, Education, History, Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology, the applicant must be possessed with a B.A. degree with at least 50% marks
- To apply for MCA, the applicant must have done BCA with a minimum of 50% marks and must have studied Mathematics at Class XII level.
Selection Criteria:
Admission to the above programs will be done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in CPGEE the eligible students which include the following:
- PG Scholarship for SC/ST students for undertaking professional courses
- PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship scheme for a single girl child
- Post Matric Scholarship to Students of Assam.

The University provides 23 specializations at UG (Undergraduate level) in several languages and other disciplines such as Arabic, Bengali, Bodo, Sanskrit, Assamese, Hindi, Persian, Anthropology, Biology, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Sociology, Statistics, Pol. Sci., History, etc. In addition to this, 24 specializations have been offered at the Postgraduate level. The university also invites applications for research-level Ph.D. programs.

- B.Sc.-Candidates will seek admission to the B.Sc course in the following subjects: Botany, Chemistry, Environmental and Wildlife Sciences (EWS), Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBBT), Statistics, Physics, Zoology.
- B.A.- Candidates need to choose one of the following as the core subject for your B.A.; Culture & Archaeology (AIHCA), Ancient Indian History, Anthropology, Arabic, Assamese, Economics, Bengali, Education, English, Hindi, History, Persian, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, Psychology.
- M.Sc: M.Sc. includes Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Physics, Statistics, Zoology.

Know about CPGEE Exam:
After getting done with the application process, the university will commence the CPGEE exam 2020. Those who have applied online for admission and submitted the application fee will appear in the examination. Download the admit card to appear in the entrance exam. The admit card will be released via online mode from the official website of the university. Download the admit card by using the registration number and password. Check the details mentioned in the admit card such as Exam date/Day/time/Exam Venue etc.
Answer Key:
After the exam commencement, an answer key will be released on the official website of the university. By seeking the answer key, candidates will get an idea of how much they are likely to score in the entrance exam. In case of any objection against the answer, send the objection via email to [email protected] within the duration of 24 hours of publication of answer keys. The decision of the subject expert will be the final decision on the answer key
Merit list:
The exam conducting authority will release the merit list based on the availability of the seats. Download the merit list from the official website of the university. This list will be based on two different categories such as:
- Total marks of the best 3 Science subjects of the final year qualifying Examination for Science Stream
- Total marks of English and the best 3 other subjects of the final year qualifying examination for Arts Stream.
After the merit list, counseling process will begin.
