The Central University of Himachal Pradesh offers admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs. The courses are offered in a wide range of disciplines across Commerce, Science, and Arts streams. Admission to programs is done on the basis of either a merit list or the entrance examination. Candidates seeking admission have to fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the university for each program.

Candidates seeking admission to the undergraduate courses must have passed 10+2 with the required minimum percentage marks. The university admits students to the postgraduate and doctoral programs on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the CUET & UGC NET/JRF exams, respectively.

CUHP UG Admission 2022

CUHP offers B.Sc., B.A., BFA, and B.Voc. programs at the undergraduate level. All undergraduate programmes are six semesters in duration, with the exception of the BFA programme, which is offered across eight semesters.

CUHP UG Eligibility Criteria 2023:

  • For admission to the B.A (H) program, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • For admission to the B.Sc (H) program, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in the Science stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • For admission to the B.Voc program, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • For admission to the BFA program, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Selection Process:

The Central University of Himachal Pradesh offers admission to undergraduate programs based on the merit list. The university releases the merit list (cutoff) based on which students are selected for the program.

CUHP 2023 B.Lib.I.Sc & M.Lib.I.Sc Admission:

The Department of Library and Information Science at CUHP offers the B.Lib.I.Sc. and M.Lib.I.Sc. degrees. The duration of both programmes is 2 years (4 semesters).

CUHP B.Lib.I.Sc & M.LIb.I.Sc Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants for the B.Lib.I.Sci programme must have a Bachelor’s/UG degree in any field from a recognised university.
  • Students applying for the M.Lib.I.Sci. programme must have earned a B.Lib.I.Sc. from a recognised university or an equivalent certification in the subject.
  • Applicants must have received a minimum of 50% in the qualifying examination or an equivalent grade.

CUHP B.Lib.I.Sc & M.Lib.I.Sc Selection Process:

  • Students are admitted to CUHP based on their performance on the Further Education Admission Test (FEAT).
  • Following the announcement of the Admission Test results, the institution publishes three successive selection lists based on which applicants can apply for admission.

CUHP PG Admission 2023:

PG Eligibility Criteria:

  • MBA candidates must have earned a bachelor’s/undergraduate degree or its equivalent from a recognized university. In the qualifying test, they must have received a minimum of 50% or an equivalent grade.
  • Applicants for the M.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics specializations must have earned an undergraduate degree from a recognized university in a non-medical/ Engineering/ Technology discipline. A bachelor’s degree holder in Chemistry, Botany, or Zoology from a recognized university can pursue a master’s degree in either Chemistry, Botany, or Zoology. In the qualifying examination, they must have received a minimum of 50% or an equivalent grade to apply for the programs.
  • MCA candidates must have a Bachelor’s/ Undergraduate degree in science, engineering, or technology from a recognized university. In the qualifying exam, they must have received a minimum of 50% or an equivalent grade.
  • For admission to the MA degree in any specialization except Hindi & Sanskrit, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any specialization. The candidate must have a minimum of 50% marks in an aggregate or equivalent grade.

PG Selection Process:

The final selection to MA, M.Sc, MCA, or MBA is done on the basis of FEAT score. FEAT, also known as the Further Education Admission Test is conducted by the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. After the conclusion of the entrance exam, the university releases the merit list based on scores obtained by candidates. The merit list will be the basis for final admission.

CUHP M.Phil/Ph.D. Admission 2023:

The Central University of Himachal Pradesh offers M.Phil & PhD programs to candidates seeking admission to doctoral programs in multiple specializations.

M.Phil/PhD Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Phil/Ph.D. program in any specialization must have a master’s degree in the relevant specialization. The candidate must have a minimum of 55 % marks in an aggregate or equivalent grade.

M.Phil/PhD Selection Process:

The admission to the M.Phil & Ph.D. programs is done on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the UGC NET/JRF exam. Candidates are called for the Personal Interview round on the basis of the merit list following which the final merit list is released.
