To apply for Delhi Police Head Constable (AWO/TPO) 2023, follow the below mentioned steps:

  • First, visit the official website of SSC i.e, https://ssc.nic.in/.
  • Now, Fill in the login details, if candidates are new then they have to register themself first.
  • Then, start filling out the application form.
  • Upload the scanned color passport size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB).
  • After this, submit the application fee.
  • Now, take print of the application form.

Delhi Police Head Constable (AWO/TPO) 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must be the citizen of India
  • The candidate’s age should be between 18-27 Years.
  • Candidate must have completed class XII with Science and Math OR National Trade Certificate (NTC) in Mechanic cum Operator Electronic Communication System + Word Processing/ Computer

Professional Attainments:

Proficiency in Computer Operation Qualifying in Nature.

  • Test of English word processing speed-1000 key depressions in 15 minutes.
  • Test of Basic Computer Functions:-
    • Opening/Closing of PC, printing, MS office usage, saving & modification in typed text, paragraph setting & numbering, etc

Selection Process:

The applicant has to go through the following stages for selection:

  • Written Exam (CBT Mode) will be for 100 Marks.
  • Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT) is qualifying in nature.
  • Trade Test (Reading & Dictation) is also a qualifying exam.
  • The Computer Proficiency Test is another Qualifying exam.
  • Once the tests are performed, applicants will go through Document Verification.
  • And lastly, there will be a Medical Examination of the entrant.

Exam Pattern:

After applying for Delhi Police Head Constable (AWO/TPO) 2023, it is a must to check the examination pattern:

  • There will be no negative marking on the test
  • The applicant will get 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the test.
  • The exam will be commenced in online mode.

Physical Endurance Test (PET):

Besides appearing in the written exam, the candidate’s physical strength will also be checked. The details about the same are as follows:

Male

  • Up to 30 Years: The candidate must be able to perform 1600 meter Race in 7 Minutes. He should be capable of doing a Long Jump of 12.5 Feet and High Jump of 3.5 Feet
  • 30-40 Years: Candidate must be able to perform 1600 meter Race in 8 Minutes. He should be capable of doing a Long Jump of 11.5 Feet and High Jump of 3.25 Feet
  • 40+ Age candidates: Applicant must be able to do 1600 meter Race in 9 Minutes. He must also be able to do a Long Jump of 10.5 Feet and a High Jump 3Feet

Female:

  • 30 Years: She should be able to perform 800 meter Race in 5 Minutes duration. She should be capable of doing a Long Jump of 9 Feet and High Jump of 3 Feet
  • 30-40 Years: The candidate must be able to perform 800 meter Race in 6 Minutes. Besides this, she should be able to perform a Long Jump of 8 Feet and High Jump of 2.5 Feet
  • 40+: She must have the ability to perform 800 meter Race in 7 Minutes. He must also be able to do a Long Jump of 7 Feet and High Jump of 2.25 Feet

Physical Measurement:

Male Candidates:

  • Height should be 170 cms (Relaxable by 5cm for Hill Areas/ST Candidates/Sons of Either Serving, Retired, or deceased Delhi Police Personnel/ MTS of Delhi Police)
  • Chest size should be between 81-85 cms (with 4 cms expansion). The relaxation by y 5 cms for Residents of Hill Areas/ ST Candidates/ Sons of Either Serving, Retired or deceased Delhi Police Personnel/ MTS of Delhi Police)

Female Candidates:

  • Height should be 157 cms (Relaxable by 5cm for Hill Areas/ ST Candidates/ Daughters of Either Serving, Retired, or deceased Delhi Police Personnel/ MTS of Delhi Police)
  • Chest measurement is not applicable for female entrants

Exam Syllabus:

Here is the syllabus and topics covered in the written examination:

  • General Awareness: In this section, questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness and its application to society. Questions help in testing applicants’ knowledge of current events. The test comprises questions related to India and its neighboring countries, History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research.
  • Reasoning: This section comprises questions based on Non-Verbal Reasoning, Analogy, Alphanumeric Series, Number Series, Critical Thinking, Coding and de-coding, Logical Reasoning, Input-Output, Blood Relations, Syllogisms, Table, Directions/ Ranking Test, Benn Diagrams, Seating Arrangement, Coded Inequalities, and Data Sufficiency.
  • Mathematics: This section consists of Number Systems, Ratio Proportion, Percentages, Averages, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit, Loss & Discount, Time, Distance & Work, Algebra (Equations, Surds, Indices, Graphs), Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Data Interpretation, Sequence & Series, Permutation & Combination and Simplification.
  • General Science: Physics covers the topics such as understanding the basic concepts of topics like thermodynamics, mechanics, Newton’s Law of Motion, Gravity, Motion, Pressure, Units of measurements, sound, Heat & Temperature, Electronics, Magnetism, Ohm’s Law, Number Systems, Fiber Optics, Mode of Communication, etc. Chemistry: It covers the topics such as Chemistry of everyday life, commonly used chemicals, important catalysts, reactions, Commercial applications of chemicals, chemical and physical change, definition based questions, Acids (Sulphuric acid, Hydrochloride), Atomic numbers, Elements, and their Symbols, and Electro Chemistry, etc.
  • Computer Fundamentals: It includes MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW and Web Browsers, etc.

This paper will include questions on the following:

  • Elements of Word Processing
  • MS Excel
  • Communication
  • Internet

Trade Test:

Once the applicant qualifies Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests will appear for Trade Test. It consists of (Reading & Dictation) to check the applicant’s capability to transmit and receive messages. This test will be done in the form of reading and dictation (both in Hindi and English languages) will be given to the candidates in groups. Those who make more than 50% mistakes in Hindi or English dictation will be disqualified. In the reading test, the applicant will be given a passage to read in both Hindi and English.

Computer Formatting Test:

After clearing Trade Test, candidates will appear for Proficiency in Computer Operation. This test is qualifying in nature.

  • This test is based on English Word Processing Speed– 1000 key depressions in 15 minutes commenced on the computer and based on the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the printed passage in English containing 200 words given to each candidate, who would enter the same in the Computer in Word Format in MS Office.

Note: If a candidate makes 25 or more mistakes shall be disqualified.

  • Test of Basic Computer Functions: (Opening/ Closing of PC, Printing, MS Office usage, saving & modification in typed text, paragraph setting & numbering, etc.
  • MS Word: Underline, Using different font types, Inserting paragraph numbers, Select text in bold, Using different font sizes, Page numbering, Draw/ Insertion of the table, Bullets/ Numbering, Change case, Setting paragraphs
  • MS PowerPoint: Use the text box, Insert Chart, Insert text with WordArt, Background style of the slide, Design of Slide, Slide Numbering, Insert clipart, Insert Picture, Bullet/ Numbering, Alignment of text
  • MS Excel: Merge cell, Centre a Text, Centre align as text, Insert shapes, Font size, Font style, Font color, Bold a Text, Underline a Text, Italics.
