GKCIET Admission 2023: Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology, or GKCIET, was founded in Malda, West Bengal, in the year 2010. It is a government-funded technical academy under India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development. GKCIET now offers nearly seven distinct certification courses for students who have completed the 10th grade or equivalent. Admissions are made on the basis of the All India Entrance Test, which is held at several locations across the country.
Admission to the diploma program is also available at the institute. To be considered for enrollment, an applicant must either pass the 10+2 exam or complete a GKCIET-approved certification course. GKCIET also provides a B.Tech program with three different specializations. An applicant must have completed a diploma or comparable course from a recognized academy to be considered for admission.

GKCIET Malda B.Tech Admission 2023
The institute provides admission to the B.Tech program in three specializations, and candidates with higher secondary education in the science stream are eligible to apply. Admission to the course will be determined by the results of the Institute’s Entrance Examination.
GKCIET B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking direct admission to full-time B.Tech programs must have completed a diploma course from an associated and authorized institute/polytechnic with a minimum of 50% marks.
GKCIET B.Tech Selection Process
In the event of direct admissions, admission is solely based on merit in the All India GKCIET Entrance test or GET-III for the academic year. For vertical admission, the institute administers an exam, which an applicant must pass to be considered. Candidates from states other than West Bengal must take the entrance test to be considered for admission.
GKCIET Polytechnic Admission 2023
GKCIET accepts applications for diploma programs, and 10+2 eligible candidates can apply for Polytechnic courses in a variety of specializations, including Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Food Processing Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.

GKCIET Polytechnic Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates seeking direct admission to full-time diploma programs must have completed a high school diploma or 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects from a recognized board.
- In the qualifying examination, a minimum of 50% must be obtained in the aggregate.
- A candidate for vertical entry must have completed a certificate course at GKCIET with a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved category).
GKCIET Polytechnic Selection Process
- In the event of direct admissions, admission is solely based on merit in the All India GKCIET Entrance test or GET-II for the academic year.
- The institution administers an exam for vertical entrance that consists of two 100-marks papers with equal weightage. To be considered for admission, an applicant must pass the exam.
- Candidates from states other than West Bengal must take the entrance exam to be considered for admission.
GKCIET Certification Course Admission 2023
The institute accepts students for two-year certificate programs in seven different disciplines. Admission to the courses will be determined by the results of the Institute’s entrance test. The seven specializations are as follows:

GKCIET Certification Course Eligibility Criteria
Candidates for admission to the full-time certification programs must have completed a 10th-grade examination with English, Mathematics, and Science as mandatory subjects from a recognized board. Those candidates with Open School credentials are also able to apply for the certification course.

How to Apply?
To apply for admissions, candidates must complete the processes outlined below.
- Visit the official website of GKCIET
- Download the Academic Year Information Brochure as well as the Application Form.
- In the section provided, fill in your personal information as well as your educational qualifications.
- Only a Demand Draft in favor of “Accounts Officer, GKCIET, Malda” payable in Malda is required to pay the application fee.
- The fully completed form must be accompanied by self-attested copies of supporting papers.
- The Chairman, Admission Committee, GKCIET, Malda must receive the fully submitted application form.
- A scanned copy of the application form, as well as a word document containing the form, must be emailed.

GKCIET Scholarships
GKCIET students can apply for a variety of scholarships, including:
- Chief Minister Relief Fund: This scholarship is provided by the Nabanna Scholarship WB CMO Chief Minister Relief Fund West Bengal.
- Oasis: The Backward Classes Welfare Department or the Tribal Development Department, as well as the Government of West Bengal, sponsor the ‘Oasis’ scholarship.
- Aikashree: The West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation and the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department together sponsor the Aikashree scholarship. The candidate must have secured at least a 50% in the previous examination, and the family’s yearly income must not exceed 2 lakhs per year.
- Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Scholarship: The Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Scholarship is funded by the West Bengal government. The annual income cap for a household has been set at Rs.2,50,000/-. Candidates who apply for these scholarships and are found not eligible will be prohibited from receiving any other governmental (central/state) grant or stipend.
- Kanyashree: The Kanyashree scholarship is given by the West Bengal government. It offers a one-time grant of Rs.25,000 to females between the ages of 18 and 19, who are unmarried and have a household income of less than Rs.1.2 lakh per year.
