Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must have successfully completed graduation or post-graduation with at least 50%. There will be age relaxation for SC and ST category applicants.
  • The age of the fresher category candidate should be 38 years on the admission year. However, deputed teachers from any West Bengal Govt. /Govt. Aided/ Govt. Sponsored schools or institutions must have at least one-year teaching experience may apply.

Only submitting the filled application form is not enough, you need to submit the application fee along. Candidates will pay Rs 700/-and Rs.40/-(service charges) as an application fee. Selection Process:

  • Deputed applicants: Selection will be based on Experience in service. Only the new in-service teachers, teaching classes IX to XIIin Govt. aided schools may apply.
  • Fresher Candidates: Fresher candidates are chosen via the sum of marks on the basis of previous academic qualification as per G.O
  • Physically Handicapped Candidates: The physically challenged candidates will be selected on the basis of the following

(a) Percentage of disability (40%) for threshold criteria

(b) Score/marks depending upon the qualification as per G.O. of D.P.I

Gour Banga University B.Ed Counseling:

There will be a display of the merit list along with counseling schedule at the University’s website www.ugb.ac.in. Check the schedule to be available for counseling.

Candidates are recommended to appear for counseling 30 minutes prior along with all the crucial documents. The counseling process will consist of document verification and allocation of seats.

Pay the counseling fee of Rs 2000/- (refundable) during the counseling process. However, the fee will not be refunded if the contender fails to appear for admission.

  • A number of seats in Self Financing B.Ed. Colleges 72, seats for freshers18 and 10 for Deputed
  • A number of seats in Balurghat B.Ed. College 144, seats for freshers 36 and 20 for Deputed
  • Janardan College Of Education (B.Ed.) offers 36 seats. Seats for freshers will be 9 and 5 for Deputed
  • There will be seat reservations for reserved category applicants. College wise 22%, 6% & 3% seats will be reserved for SC, ST & Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates.

  • Self-Financing Colleges will charge INR 1, 40,000.00 (FOR TWO YEARS), Rs. 5,000.00 as refundable caution money
