The application process is an online process. To apply for the desired course, applicants are required to visit the official website of the university. Here is the step-by-step process to apply:
- First, go to the Online Admission Form and start filling the details in the application form carefully.
- Now, select the payment gateway via MPOnline authorized KIOSK/Net Banking/ATM cum Debit Card/Credit Cards
- Application fee for UGET & PGET is Rs. 800/- and Rs. 1000/- respectively and Rs 400/- for SC/ST/OBC/ PC candidates
- In case, the applicant applies for more than one programme then an additional fee of Rs 400/- is to be paid per programme and Rs 200/- for PC/SC/ST category candidates.
- Pay the non-refundable application fee via Bank draft
- After making a payment, a payment receipt will be generated and applicants need to take a print of the same.
- Send the hard copy of the same to the Chairman (only for those who are applying through sports quota), Admission Cell, Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar – (M.P.) 470003

Undergraduate Courses:

- Applicants applying for undergraduate courses such as B.A, B.Com, B.B.A, B.Sc. , B.C.A, B.Pharm., B.A.L.L.B.(Hon), B.A.B.Ed., B.Sc.B.Ed Integrated and belonging to General (UR) and OBC categories must have completed class XII or equivalent examination.
- Candidate must have scored at least 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent in grade (4.7 in CBSE / ICSE System) in their Qualifying Examination from some recognized Board/Institution whereas.
- Applicants belonging to SC, ST, and PC (Physically Challenged) categories must have acquired a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate or equivalent in grade.

- To apply for BA, BA B.ED, and BFA, the applicant must have completed 10+2 in any discipline with at least 45% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ ST / PC categories)
- If you are eager to apply for B.Sc, then you must have done class XII in Science (Biology Group) with at least 45% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ ST / PC categories). For Maths Group, the candidate must have done 10+2 with at least 45% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ ST / PC categories)
- To do B.Sc-B.Ed, candidate must have completed 10+2 in Science (Biology Group) with 45% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ ST / PC categories). For Maths Group, applicants must have attained at least 45% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ ST / PC categories)
- To apply for B.Pharm, the candidate must have done 10+2 in Science with Biology with 45% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ ST / PC categories). For Science with Mathematics, the candidate must have completed 10+2 in Science with Mathematics with 45% marks and 5% relaxation given to SC/ST/PC category applicants.
- If you want to apply for BA.LLB (Hon), then minimum qualification is 10+2 in any discipline with 45% marks and 5% relaxation for SC/ ST / PC categories),
- B.Lib.I.Sc requires Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (5% relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PC category applicants.
- Courses such as BJ and LLB require Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 45% marks and 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PC category applicants.

List of PG Courses and Eligibility:
- To apply for M.Sc. in Applied Microbiology, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Forensic Sc., Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Yogic Sc, and Zoology, the applicant must have completed 10+2+3 or equivalent exam successfully. Applicant must have attained at least 45% marks for General (UR) and OBC. However, 5% of marks relaxation will be given to the applicants belonging to SC, ST, and PC Categories. Admission will be provided based on the marks attained in PGET and the counseling process.
- To do M.A, Ancient Indian History, Culture & Arch., Anthropology, Criminology, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, Linguistics, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Public Administration, Psychology, Rural Development, Sanskrit, Sociology, and Urdu, the applicant must have done graduation or equivalent exam successfully. Applicant must have attained at least 45% marks for General (UR) and OBC. However, 5% of marks relaxation will be given to the applicants belonging to SC, ST, and PC Categories. Admission will be provided based on the marks attained in PGET and the counseling process.
- To apply for M.Com. in Commerce, M.B.A. in Business Management, M.J. in Journalism & Communication, MSW in Social Work, Master’s in Performing Arts and Theatre Arts, and M.Tech in Applied Geology, the applicant must have completed Graduation or equivalent exam. Applicants from General (UR) and OBC categories must have acquired a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent CGPA and relaxation of 5 percent marks in Qualifying Examination will be given to SC, ST, and PC Category applicants.
- To apply for M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Science, the applicant must have done graduation in B.Pharm. with at least 60% or equivalent CGPA and valid GPAT/GATE may apply for admission to M.Pharm. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PC Categories will get a relaxation of 5% in the Qualifying Exam.
- To apply for M.C.A in Computer Application, the minimum qualification is graduation in any subject with Mathematics at the level of class XII. Applicant must have acquired at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the Qualifying Examination (QE). And marks relaxation of 5% will be given to the candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PC Categories in this programme.
- LLM course requires candidates to must have done LL.B. after three years of graduation or 5 years of LL.B. under the 10+2+5 pattern recognized by the Bar Council of India. Applicant must have acquired at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the LL.B. Degree. 5% of marks relaxation will be candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PC Categories in this programme.
- To do M.Ed in Education, the candidate must have acquired at least 50% Marks or equivalent CGPA with any of the following such as B.Ed./B.A.-B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed/B.L.Ed./D.L.Ed. 5% of the marks relaxation will be given to the SC, ST, and PC category applicants.
- To apply for M.Lib.I.Sc. in Library and Information Science, the applicant must have acquired at least 50% marks both in graduation and B.Lib.I.Sc. However, relaxation of 5% marks in the Qualifying Examination will be given to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PC Categories in this programme.
Reservation of Seats
- Candidates belonging to OBC -NCL, SC, ST, and Physically Challenged (PC) categories will be given reservations as per the Government of India rules i.e. OBC(NCL) – 27%, SC-15%, ST-7.5%:
- 3% seats are reserved within each of the categories (General, ST, SC, and OBC) for Physically Challenged (PC) candidates (on a horizontal basis), only if the candidate fulfills the other minimum eligibility at the Entrance level examination.
- Kashmiri Migrants will be given certain concessions as per the UGC guidelines: 10% Relaxation in the cut of Percentage Subject to Minimum Eligibility/Increase in intake Capacity 5% Course wise (except in courses Governed by Statutory Bodies) and 2 seats under supernumerary quota for students from J&K 1 seat for courses Governed by Statutory Bodies
- In the case of PC, any category of disability benefit would be given to those who have at least 40% physical impairment. The percentage of disability of the candidate should be certified by the competent authority. The reserved seats belonging to SC/ST are interchangeable in case of vacancy. If the seats belonging to reserved categories candidates remain vacant and the list is exhausted, then the vacant seats may be filled by General category candidates.
- Two (02) supernumerary seats for players (Sports Seat) shall be available for each Undergraduate Programme, and One (01) supernumerary seat shall be available for each Postgraduate Programme.
