HP TET 2023: HP TET stands for Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. This test is commenced by the Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE) to appoint those candidates who are eligible to work in the schools of Himachal Pradesh. This important test conducts every year in June month. The test is commenced for several languages and various subjects such as Medical, Language TET, TGT Arts TET, Non-medical TET, TGT Medical TET, Punjabi TET, Urdu TET. HP TET 2023 Application Form:

Those who are interested in applying for HP TET 2023 need to fill the application form available at the official website of the board. The form needs to be filled in the prescribed format and time limit. If you fulfill the eligibility criteria then only apply for the exam. Go through all the instructions so that you confront no issues while filling the form. There will be no provision like change in the form once it is filled and submitted. Keep a print of the form with you for further reference.

Application Fee:

The application fee will be Rs 800/- for general category candidates and Rs 500/- for SC/ST/OBC/PHH category aspirants.

You can make payment via online mode such as credit card /net banking/debit card. You can also choose the offline mode by generating the challan and submitting it to the SBI branch near you.

Steps to apply online for HP TET June 2023:

  • Visit the official site of HP BOSE.
  • On the home page, click on the “Latest News”
  • Click on that the official notification will get displayed.
  • Refer to the notification to know the prescribed eligibility criteria and recruitment process.
  • Start the application process.
  • Fill in all the mandatory fields.
  • Submit the online application on or before the last date.

HP TET 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

For TGT (Arts):

  • Candidate must have completed BA/B.com with at least 50% marks and one-year B.Ed course.
  • You must have completed Senior Secondary or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks and a 4-year course of B.El.Ed
  • You must have completed the Senior Secondary or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks or 4 year BA.Ed course.

For TGT (Non-Medical):

  • You must have completed B.Sc (NM) with at least 50% marks & one-year B.Ed course.
  • Candidate must have completed B.Sc (NM) with 50% marks & one-year B.Ed (Special Education).
  • You must have done B.Sc (NM) with minimum 45% marks and one-year B.Ed as per NCTE.
  • Candidate must have completed class 12th with at least 50% marks & 4 years B.Sc (NM)Ed course.
  • You must have completed class 12th with at least 50% marks & 4 years B.El.Ed course.

For TGT (Medical):

  • Candidate must have completed B.Sc (Medical) with at least 50% marks & 1 year B.Ed.
  • You must have done B.Sc (Medical) with at least 50% marks & one-year B.Ed (Special Education).
  • You must have successfully done B.Sc (Medical) with at least 45% marks & one-year B.Ed as per NCTE.
  • You must have completed class 12th with at least 50% marks & 4 years B.Sc (Medical)Ed course.
  • You must have completed class 12th with at least 50% marks & 4 years B.El.Ed course.

For Language Teacher:

  • To apply for a language teacher, you must have done a BA in Hindi as an elective subject along with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • You must have completed a BA with at least 50% marks in Hindi as an elective subject & 1-year B.Ed course.
  • You must have acquired BA with at least 45% marks in Hindi as an elective subject & one-year B.Ed as per NCTE.
  • You must have done BA with 50% marks in Hindi as an elective subject & one year B.Ed (Special Education).
  • You must have Prabhakar (Honours in Hindi) with at least 50% followed by B.A (English & one additional subject) with at least 50% & one-year B.Ed course.
  • Candidate must have completed MA (Hindi) with minimum 50% marks & one-year B.Ed course.

For Shastri:

You must have attained at least 50% marks in any discipline from any university or some institute recognized by the Himachal Pradesh Government.

The eligibility criteria for the other language teachers is the same as above except for the concerned languages like Punjab/Urdu.

Junior Based Training (JBT):

  • Candidate must have done class 12th with at least 50% marks & 2 years D.El.Ed course.
  • You must have completed class XII with at least 50% marks along with 2 years JBT Certificate.
  • You must have completed class XII with at least 45% marks & 2 years D.El.Ed course as per NCTE.
  • You must have done class 12th with at least 50% marks along with 4 years B.El.Ed course.
  • You must have done class 12th with at least 50% marks & 2 years D.El.Ed (Special Education) course.
  • The candidate must be a graduate along with 2 years D.El.Ed course.

Exam Pattern:

  • The exam will be conducted in offline mode.
  • The candidate needs to complete the examination within the duration of two and a half hours.
  • Exam language will be bilingual except English and Hindi.

Marks distribution for TGT (Arts) will be as follows:

  • For subjects like Child Psychology, Pedagogy, candidates will go through 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • For General Awareness, HP Current Affairs & EVS candidates will go through 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • For English candidates will go through 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • For Social Studies, the candidate will go through 60 questions for 60 marks.

Marks distribution for TGT (Non-Medical) will be as follows:

  • For subjects like Child Psychology, Pedagogy, the candidate will go through 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • For General Awareness, HP Current Affairs & EVS candidates will go through 30 questions for 30 marks.

  • For Shastri Degree Course, the candidate will go through 120 questions for 120 marks.
  • General Awareness, HP Current Affairs & EVS will have 30 questions for 30 marks.

Marks distribution for Language Teachers:

  • For subjects like Hindi/Punjabi/Urdu, the candidate will go through 120 questions for 120 marks.
  • General Awareness, HP Current Affairs & EVS will consist of 30 questions for 30 marks.

Marks distribution for Junior Based Training (JBT):

  • Child Psychology, Pedagogy consisted of 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • English Literature & Grammar consisted of 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • Hindi Literature & Grammar consisted of 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • Mathematics consisted of 30 questions for 30 marks.
  • Social Science, General Awareness, EVS & Current Affairs including HP consisted of 30 questions for 30 marks.

Note: Every question will be for one mark and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Syllabus:

HP TET 2023 Syllabus comprises several topics from the Languages, Himachal Pradesh GK and awareness, Social Studies, and EVS. The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus completely on the educational psychology of teaching and learning for children of different groups. The test items of Languages will give complete focus on skills connected to the medium of instructions.

Selection Procedure:

The selection process of HP TET is based on the written exam & document verification. Those who are shortlisted for the selection and the document verification will bring the following documents for verification:

  • Mark sheets of the qualifying examinations
  • HP TET 2023 Admit Card
  • Community Certificate (if applicable)
  • Nativity Certificate
  • Scorecard of HP TET 2023
  • Result Copy of HP TET

There will be a personal interview by the exam conducting body.

Admit Card:

Admit cards can be acquired from the official website a few days after submitting the application form. Ensure that you avail of the hall ticket date for avoiding inconvenience later. You need to go to the official website and seek the admit card. Keep print out of Admit Card ready with you that you can carry at the exam center. In case, you find some issues or discrepancies in details, etc then contact the exam cell for making corrections on time on the prescribed date. No candidate will be permitted to enter the exam hall without admit card.

Salary for teachers in HP:

The salary of teachers will be followed as per the government norms. However, the pay scale is between Rs.18000/- and Rs.35000/-. There is a salary difference as per the qualification, candidate’s eligibility, and experience in teaching. Salary is also dependent on the school to school (in case you apply for private schools).

Exam Result:

Merit list will appear on the official site and those who successfully clear the examination will be provided with the certificate by the Himachal Pradesh of Board Education. Usually, the result is declared in July.

Cut Off:

Cut-off marks will be available by the examination board after the result gets declared. The result will be announced by HPBOSE via the official website. You will find category-wise cut-off marks on the official website of HP TET 2023 and check easily by entering the required details. The cut-off is dependent on the number of candidates appearing, the number of seats available, the difficulty level of the exam, etc.
