HPCET 2023: Himachal Pradesh Technical University every year conducts an entrance test at the state level. Through this test, Candidates can seek admission into undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharm, MBA, MCA, etc. To seek admission interested candidates need to apply for HPCET. The candidates are required to pass the exam for the selection process. For every course, the Himachal Pradesh Technical University will conduct separate exams. HPCET Application Form has been released by Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) through online mode at their official website. The Himachal Pradesh Technical University annually conducts the HPCET exam to enroll the students in various technical & professional courses. 50% of the seats are reserved for JEE Main qualified candidates, and the remaining 50% of seats will be filled through the HPCET examination. HPCET 2023 Application Form:
Candidates can apply for HPCET online mode from the official website. Before applying every candidate must ensure their eligibility status. Below are the steps to apply for the application form.
- Candidates can visit the official website.
- Read the notification on the official page.
- On the Home page check for the “Apply Online” link
- Click on the link.
- The first candidate needs to register themselves for the exam.
- To register to provide your mobile number and Email Id.
- Then fill in other registration details asked.
- After that, a registration number and password will be sent to candidates on the Email ID registered.
- The candidate needs to use the details to login into the portal to fill the application form.
- Now Upload the Scanned images of the photo and signature in the required format.
- Check all details carefully before submitting the Application form.
- take a printout of the application form for future reference
Application fees
- The application fee for General category candidates is Rs.1250/-
- The application fee for candidates of the ST/SC/BPL category is Rs.1100/-
- The students can submit the application fee through a debit card and a credit card or e-Challan.

Eligibility:
Candidates can check the eligibility criteria below. For different courses, the eligibility criteria are different.
- Pharma (Direct Entry): Candidates must have qualified 12th from the recognized Board with Chemistry and Physics as the compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects (Technical Vocational subject/Biology/Biotechnology/Mathematics).
- Candidates must have scored a minimum aggregate of 45%
- The age of the candidate must be a minimum of 17 years.
- Tech (Direct Entry): Candidates must have qualified 12th from the recognized Board with Mathematics and Physics as the compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects (Technical Vocational subject/Biology/Biotechnology/Mathematics).
- Candidates must have scored a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in these subjects altogether.
- Pharma (Ayurveda): Candidates must have qualified 12th from the recognized Board with Chemistry and Biology as the compulsory subjects.
- Candidates must have scored a minimum of 45% marks in these subjects altogether.
- Tech: Candidates must have qualified B.Tech/ B.E. in the field of Technology and Engineering with at least 50% marks.
- MCA: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University and must have studied Mathematics in class 12th. In the Bachelor’s Degree, candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks.
- MBA: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University. In the Bachelor’s Degree, candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks.
Exam Pattern:
- Exam Mode: The mode of examination is Offline (Pen and Paper Based)
- Exam Duration: The examination will be for 3 Hours (for MBA & MCA the duration is 2 Hours)
- Type of Questions: The type of questions asked will be MCQs
- Exam Medium: English
- Marking Scheme: 2 marks will be awarded for each right answer
- Negative Marking: 5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer
Admit Card:
The hall ticket will be made available on the official website. The candidates need to bring the admit card to the examination hall along with them. Without admit card the students are not permitted to attend the HPCET examination. To download admit card they need to enter their application form number to access the admit card for HPCET Examination. The admit card has details of candidates like admit card number, candidate’s name, address of the exam center, exam venue, and date. Candidates also need to bring valid ID proof to the exam hall.
HPCET 2023 Result & Counselling
The result of the HPCET 2023 will be announced on the official website. Candidates need to keep on checking for the release dates of the result. The result can also be downloaded from the official site. The candidates will check the result online by entering their application ID and password. Checking the result will enable them to know their passing status. A merit list will be prepared by the authority to shortlist the candidates for the remaining 50% seats in the courses provided by the university. The selected candidates will be notified about the counseling schedule. They must attend the counseling to lock their choice of colleges and courses.
