Application Fees:

The application fees can be submitted online mode by debit card, credit card, net banking, etc. The application fee for SC/ST/PH//female is exempted. An application fee for others is Rs.100/-.

The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is 712 which includes 22 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category i.e,

IAS Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

The aspirants applying for the examination first check the UPSC 2024 Eligibility of the examination. Only those candidates fulfilling the criteria can fill the application form.

Nationality:

The candidate should be a citizen of India. Besides citizens of Bhutan, Nepal, and Tibetan refugees who came before 1st Jan 1962 can also apply for the exam. Also, candidates of Indian origin who have migrated from counties like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam and Myanmar, etc can apply.

Age Limit:

The candidate should have completed 21 years and the maximum age limit is 32 years. The candidates of reserved categories will get relaxation.

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Defense service personnel: 3 years.
  • Ex-servicemen including commissioned officers ECOs/SSCOs: 5 years

Education Qualifications:

The candidate applying for UPSC Civil Services Exam 2024 must have done graduation from any recognized university or institution. The candidate who is in the final year of graduation can also apply for the examination. The candidates who have appeared for the passing examination and are waiting for the result can also apply.

  • General: 6 Attempts
  • SC/ST: no limit
  • OBC: 9 Attempts

IAS Exam 2024 Exam Pattern:

The UPSC Civil Service examination will be held in three stages – preliminary, mains, and interview. The IAS Exam Pattern is given below:

Preliminary Exam Pattern:

  • The Exam will be conducted through Offline mode.
  • The candidate will have to give 2 Papers that are objective-based.
  • The first exams are of general study and the second of CSAT, which is also known as the civil service aptitude test.
  • The exams are 200 marks each and the duration of the exam is 2 hours each.
  • The candidate qualifying both the exams will appear for the mains examination.

Mains Exam Pattern:

  • The candidate who clears Pre-exams will give the mains exam.

The admit card will be released one week before the examination. When the admit card will be available the candidates will get a notification regarding it. Candidates can download admit card by entering their application number and password/date of birth. The candidate without admit card will not be allowed to attend the exam.
