IIAD Admission 2023: IIAD is shortened to the Indian Institute of Art and Design located in New Delhi. It conducts the entrance examination IIAD Design Aptitude Test to seek admission further. After checking the eligibility criteria, candidates can apply for the written test IIAD without a delay. Here are the complete details:
- First, read the instructions carefully
- The application form is available in online and offline modes.
- If you are applying via online mode then go to the portal – https://apply.iiad.edu.in/.
- Fill in all the crucial information in the form.
- Once the details are filled in, attach the scanned copy of both passport size photo and signature.
- Also, pay the application fee to complete the application process.
- Pay the application via credit card, debit card, or net banking.
- Make sure to take a copy of the application form for future reference.

IIAD Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria:
Before applying for IIAD Admission 2023 it is important to know whether you are eligible for admission or not. Check the eligibility criteria:
Undergraduate:
- Candidates with 10+2 or equivalent in any stream (Science, Commerce, Humanities/Arts) with an aggregate of a minimum of 50% are eligible to apply. Candidates appearing for the Class XII examination in the current academic year or awaiting results may also apply.
- Candidates are accepted from CBSE/ISC/State/IB or any other equivalent Indian or International Higher Secondary Board.
Postgraduate:
- Graduates in any stream or discipline from a recognized institute/university are eligible to apply.
- Final year graduate students or students awaiting results may also apply.

Postgraduate:
Our Postgraduate programme offers a total of 40 seats distributed across two courses:
- Fashion Design:
- Graduates from the Fashion Design/Textile Design/ or a related field from a recognized institute/university are eligible to apply.
- Final year graduate students or students awaiting results may also apply.
- Fashion Business Management:
- Graduates in any stream or discipline from a recognized institute/university are eligible to apply.

IIAD Admission 2023 Exam Pattern:
The applicant is evaluated based on the following:
- Observation
- Creative Expression
- Visual and Communication Strength
- Drawing
- Design Skills
Besides this, know more about the examination pattern:
- The exam will be commenced in Pen and Paper mode
- The candidate will get 150 minutes to complete the paper
- There will be 2 parts on paper. Paper A-Logical Reasoning and Part B-Creative Thinking
- All the Questions will be Objective Type
- The English language will be used for paper and no other
- There will be no negative marking in exams.
- The candidate will receive 1 mark for every correct answer
- All the drawing-based questions carry 5 marks.
- After the written exam gets over, there will be an Interview and Portfolio assessment.
- A personal interview test is based on the understanding of basic art and design concepts and industry awareness.
- A portfolio assessment is the part of the interview which consisted of the candidate’s art collages, drawings, graphic design, paintings, photography, needlework, web design, sketches, 3-dimensional projects, and digital design.
Syllabus:
Those who are appearing in the examination need to know everything about the exam syllabus in advance. The syllabus will consist of the subjects studied in classes X and XII.
- Logics Design and Shapes Geometrical, and other types – Identification of similarities and identical one, Numerical Series based on the Different Patterns, Logical Decision Logical Sequence Blood Relations, Find outnumber and item for incomplete number series Logical Sequences of Numbers, Shapes, Words, Figures and Letters, Select the odd one out, Analogy Series Coding-Decoding Statement and Arguments Statement, and Assumptions Statement and Conclusions, Situation Reaction Cause, Effects Assertion, and Reason Syllogism.
- Picture construction task or shapes Creative design Circles and squares task Incomplete figures task Imaginative stories creation Generation and Development of Ideas Analysis of Problem and development of options for solution Description of a scene / Essay writing / creative writing Evaluation of information based on observation and imagination.
Admit Card:
After successful registration for the IIAD entrance test, the admit card will be released by the exam conducting body. The admit card will consist of the basic information such as the candidate’s roll no, category, gender, photograph, exam time, date, etc. It is crucial to carry a copy of the admit card along while moving to the examination center. Keep a copy of the admit card safely with you till the exam process comes to an end.
Examination Centers:
While applying for the exam, candidates are required to fill out the exam center as well. They have three choices to fill and the same exam center details will be present on the admit card. The exam will be commenced in major cities of India such as Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata
Result:
The result will be released online mode. Candidates need to use the official website to check the result. The result of the applicant is based on the written exam, Interview, and Portfolio assessment.

The selection of the applicants is based on two rounds which are as follows:
- IIAD Design Aptitude Test
- Personal interview/Portfolio Assessment
Note: Those who appear for Interior Architecture and Design need not give the test as they can deliver their NATA Score and reach the level of Cut off score. These applicants will directly move to the Personal/ Portfolio Assessment round.
Counselling Process:
There will be a counseling process after the exam results are announced. Applicants will be assigned the seat based on their ranks and preferences in the counseling process. Make sure to carry original documents during the counseling process.
