Integrated M.Tech-PhD Program at IIA:
- If you are preparing for Computational Biology/Theoretical Neuroscience/ /Computer Science then make sure that you have done master’s in Science or have done Masters in technology or MCA in Computer Science.
- Candidates need to have done with/M.Sc/ B.Tech/BE in the Optoelectronics in Optics, Physics (with Applied Science), Physics as well as Electronics.
- It is also important before you apply for the exam that you must have done Masters in Science or ME or MCA, or MCA in Engineering, Science, and with some great aptitudes at the IMSc.
Below eligibility criteria are well suited to those who are applying for Ph.D. Program in Physics:
- Candidates are required to have completed their M.Sc or M.Tech, M.E.
- Candidate can apply for the JEST if M.Sc in applied Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or Physics is done and Electronics/ Photonics/ Instrumentation taken as IIA.
- Tech and BE will be considered at IMSc, IISc, IUCAA, ICTS-TIFR, RRI, IISER Mohali, NCRA-TIFR, JNCASR, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, IISER Pune, and TIFR-TCIS.
- Candidates who are showing up the last year of B.Sc or giving the first year of M.Sc in Physics, Astronomy, Applied Mathematics, Electronics are qualified to apply.
- However, if someone is thinking to apply and done M.SC in Applied Science, Physics, or Engineering Physics will be considered at TIFR, IPR. Those who have done B.tech, M.SC Physics, or Engineering Physics are welcome to apply for the exam.
Integrated M.Sc/M.Tech-PhD Program:
- Those applicants who have done Bachelors in Science can apply for the Integrated M.Sc or P.HD programs in Physics at HRI, ICTS, NCRA-TIFR, TIFR-TCIS, IISER-Pune, SNBNCBS.
- Those who have done graduation in Mathematics, Computer Science, Science, Stats, as well as Engineering IT will be considered relevant for Ph.D. Physics, Theoretical Computer Science.
Age: There is no specific age bar when applying for JEST.

- General category candidates are required to pay Rs.400/-, and SC & St need to pay Rs.200/-

- Mode of Exam: The JEST Exam will be conducted through OMR (Offline Mode).
- Duration: The exam duration will be 3 hours.
- Number of Section: The paper will be divided into three parts. That will be Part A, Part B & Part C.
- Language: The paper language will be English.
- Marking Scheme: In part A and B, 3 marks will be provided and in part C, 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer.
- Negative Marking: In part A, 1 mark, and in part C, 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. There will be no negative marking in part B.

Admit Card:
Authority provides the JEST Admit Card through online mode. The Admit Card will not send by post and email. For the download the admit card candidates need a Username and Password after the login official Website candidates can access their admit card. Candidates must have to bring the printout of the Admit Card to the exam center.
