Aspirants willing to be a part of the Jharkhand administrative services must seat for the JPSC examination by acquiring the application form via online mode. The application form can easily be downloaded from the official website. Applicants have to furnish all the necessary details correctly in the application form. Candidates must provide the information regarding contact details prudently as all further information regarding the examination will be sent by the commission to that address and mobile number provided in the application form by the candidates. Applicants have to pay the application fee in order to submit the application form. Candidates should take a printed version of the filled application form before submitting it for further reference.
Stages to avail the application form via online mode are as follows:
Candidates can pay the application fees both through online and offline mode. Candidates must pay the exact application fee with the form. The application form will cancel if the proper amount of application fee is not paid within the due date. The commission cannot refund if the excess application fee is paid by the candidate.
Via Online mode candidates can pay their application fees by using net banking or credit card or debit card amenities of renowned banks.
Via offline mode candidates can pay their application fees to any of the branches of the State Bank of India. After the offline payment has been done bank will issue a challan to the applicant. Candidates need to enter the Challan number in the application form.

JPSC’s official website will advertise the link to avail of the admit card. Applicants must go through the updates on the website on a regular basis. Applicants have to carry their admit cards to the examination hall as without it he/she will not be allowed to seat for the exam. Applicants can download it after going through all the information provided in the admit card. Candidates can immediately approach the officials for any wrong entry in the admit card. Admit card will have a candidate’s name, registration number, Date of Birth, name of the exam centre, date of admission test and the exam time.

The JPSC examination is conducted in three steps.
Prelims mainly deal with MCQ type questions. Candidates need to qualify this round in order to enter the main examination. Prelim marks have nothing to do with the final merit list. Candidates need to attend 200 marks questions in 4 hours
Mains are for those candidates who qualify the prelims. These candidates have to again complete the application procedure before giving the main examination. Marks obtained in this examination will decide the ranking of the candidate in the final merit list. By qualifying the mains applicants also get a chance to attempt for the next round. There will be a duration of 3 hours for each of the six papers in the mains with 1050 as total marks for the examination.
The personality assessment round will only take place for the successful candidates in the main examination. The score in the mains and personality assessment round will decide the rank of the candidate in the merit list. It is a 200 marks examination.

For Prelims, questions will come from Indian Geography, Indian History, Economic and sustainable development, Indian politics and governance, Current events, questions related to Jharkhand, Environment & General awareness and Science & Technology.
For the main examination, candidates need to answer six papers dealing with History, Geography, Politics, Indian economics, globalization, environmental studies, Hindi, English, Literature & Language of Jharkhand.
Candidates who have successfully completed the JPSC main examination can be a part of the final interview or personal assessment round. There will be no such curriculum for the interview round. There will be a panel of judges who will be responsible for the final selection of the candidates after the interview round.
Cut off marks generally depend on the total number of vacancies, difficulty level of exam, number of applicants applying for the exam, etc. For the unreserved category, the cut off will be approximately 138 marks, 119 marks(approx.) for the scheduled tribe, 121(approx.) for scheduled caste and for backward classes the cut-off marks will be 132(approx.).
