Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2024: The Kendriya Vidyalaya is a system of central government schools that are under the support of the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). There are a total of 1245 Kendriya Vidyalaya in India at present and three schools abroad also. Kendriya Vidyalaya is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). KVS 2024 Guidelines for admissions:

• The Admission for Class I will take place through an online draw of lots and admission to Classes 2 to 8 will be done on a priority basis.
• The lottery system will be followed if students are more in number than the number of seats.
• Admission to Class 9 will be given based on an entrance examination and admission to Class 11 will be given based on Class 10 marks.
• The admission of fresh candidates to Class 10 and Class 12 are subject to availability, as per the information brochure of KVS.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2024 Selection Process:

Find below the Kendriya Vidyalaya 2024 Admission Process for the  Class 1st to 12th:

For Class I:

• The certificate of proof of age of the child in the form of the date of birth is issued by the authority competent to register births.

For Class II to Class VIII:

• The admission will be conducted based on merit.
• The admission may be provided on basis of the Priority to the category system.
• A lottery system will be followed in each category including the single girl child quota if applications are more than the number of seats.

For Class IX:

• An admission test is conducted for seeking admission to Class IX.
• A merit list will prepare for each category separately.
• Admission is granted in the sequence of priority of the categories prepared in the merit list.

For Class X and XII:

• Admissions are provided based on vacancies.
• The Deputy Commissioner of the Region concerned KVs will grant permission to class 10^thand 12^th

For Class XI:

• In Class XII admission in streams like Humanities, Commerce, and Science will be 40 per stream.
• The admission will provide on basis of a merit list prepared as the CGPA obtained by the student in Class X.

Kendriya Vidyalaya 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

Age criteria:

• For class 1st: The minimum age is 5 years and the maximum age is 7 years.
• For class 2nd: The minimum age is 6 years and the maximum age is 8 years.
• Class 3rd: The minimum age is 7 years and the maximum age is 9 years.
• For class 4th: The minimum age is 8 years and the maximum age is 10 years.
• For class 5th: The minimum age is 9 years and the maximum age is 11 years.

KVS Admission 2024 Age Relaxation:

• For class II, the age limit of PH students should be 6 and non PH students should be 8 and the maximum age limit should be 10 years.
• For class III, the age limit of PH students should be 7 and non PH students should be 9 and the maximum age limit should be 11 years.
• Class IV, the age limit of PH students should be 8 and non PH students should be 10 and the maximum age limit should be 12 years.
• For class V, the age limit of PH students should be 9 and non PH students should be 11 and the maximum age limit should be 13 years.
• For class VI, the age limit of PH students should be 10 and non PH students should be 12 and the maximum age limit should be 14 years.
• Class VII, the age limit of PH students should be 11 and non PH students should be 13 and the maximum age limit should be 15 years.
• For class VIII, the age limit of PH students should be 12 and non PH students should be 14 and the maximum age limit should be 16 years
• For Class IX students, there is no age restriction provided the candidate is seeking admission into class X in the same year.
• Class XII students, there is no age limit provided there should be no break in the continuous study.
• For physically handicapped candidates there is an age relaxation of by 02 years.

Seat Relaxation:

• 7.5% seats are for Scheduled candidates
• 15% seats are for SC candidates
• 3% for differently-able candidates.
• 25% of the seats are for economically weaker sections of society (EWS).

Priorities for KVS Admission 2024:

Category-I:

• The Children of foreign national officials, who come on deputation/ transfer to India on invitation by Govt. of India.
• Children of transferable and non-transferable central government employees.
• Children of ex-servicemen.

Category-II:

• Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies/ Institute of Higher Learning/ Public Sector Undertaking of the Government of India.

Category-III:

• Children of transferable as well as non-transferable State Government employees.

Category-IV:

• Same as category II candidates

Category-V:

• Children from any other category including the foreign nationals’ children who are located in India due to their work/ for any personal reasons.
• Only in case, there are no Indian Nationals for Admission, then the Children of Foreign Nationals would be considered.
