Kendriya Vidyalaya Delhi Admission 2024: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan grants admission to deserving and aspirant students in its schools every year. Admission is offered for Class I to Class IX & Class XI. There is a set of eligibility criteria for admission to different classes which students have to fulfill. Additionally, there is a predetermined selection procedure that students must go through to be admitted to their desired class. Candidates must also fulfill the age criteria for admission.

How to Apply Online for Class I?
KV Delhi Admission application forms are released on the official website. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website and fill in the details asked in the application form. The application form must be filled correctly in one go as any discrepancy could lead to the rejection of the application form.
Candidates can check the steps below to fill out the KV Delhi application form:
- Go to the official website – kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in.
- Register yourself by clicking on New Registration.
- Fill in the personal details asked in the form.
- Click on the Submit button.
- Following the registration, the candidate will receive a unique login ID.
- After logging in, candidates can choose the school according to their preference.
- Upload the required documents asked in the application form.
- Submit the form.
- Upon submitting the form, candidates will receive a unique submission code which they have to remember till the admission confirms.
Documents Required for KV Delhi Admission:
While filling out the application form, candidates will have to upload certain documents that are asked in the application form. The list of important documents that candidate must have is given below:

How to Apply for KV Delhi Admission from Class II Onwards?
The KV Delhi Application process from class II onwards is different from what was for Class I. The steps are given below:
- Students/Parents are required to visit their choice of school and collect the application form from the admission office located on the school premises.
- Fill out the application form with all required personal and educational details.
- Attach all necessary documents required with the application form. Candidates are advised to keep all important documents with them before visiting the KV Delhi school.
- Attach the passport-size photograph wherever asked in the application form. Candidates must have 5-6 photographs with them to avoid any inconvenience.
- Hand over the application form at the admission office of the school.

KV Delhi Admission Process for Class I?
The Class I admission process to KV Delhi is done based on a lottery system. There will be 5 lots through which students will be given admission to class I. The five lots are as follows:
- First Lot: On 1/4th of seats admission will be given based on RTE provisions. On this 1/4th of seats, admission will be given to OBC/SC/ST/EWS/BPL students.
- Second Lot: In the second lot, differently-abled students of the Unreserved/SC/ST/OBC/EWS category will be given preference.
- Third Lot: The remaining seats will be filled through a lottery system as per the priority category system.
- Fourth Lot: Under the fourth lot, the remaining seats will be offered to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates based on the priority of the category.
- Fifth Lot: If seats remain vacant, then the admission of candidates will be considered based on priority 3 category onwards.
KV Delhi Admission Process for Class II to VIII:
- For grades 2 to 8, KVS does not hold an admissions test.
- The priority category approach will be used to determine admission.
- Each category, including the single female child quota, will use the lottery mechanism if the number of seats available is fewer than the number of applicants (Class VI onwards).
KV Delhi Admission Process for Class IX:
- The school conducts the entrance examination for admission to Class IX.
- The exam paper will include questions from Hindi, English, Social Science, Science & Mathematics.
- The duration of the paper will be 3 hrs.
- Candidates have to secure at least 33% to qualify (25% for reserved categories).
- A merit list will be prepared based on the marks as per which candidates will be offered admission.
KV Delhi Admission Process for Class XI:
A student will be admitted to different streams, including Science, Commerce, and the Arts, for class 11 based on the grades they received in class 10. Therefore, following the release of the Class 10 results, the KV admission form for class 11 will be available.
The minimal scores needed to get admitted into various streams are listed below.
- Humanities: Candidates must have a pass percentage in their 10 board exams.
- Commerce: Candidates must have at least 55% in all subjects in Class X.
- Science: Candidates must have at least 60% in all subjects in Class X.
What is Priority Category System for KV Delhi Admission?
The priority category approach is used to determine admissions to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan schools, as shown below.
- First Priority: Children of central government employees, both transferable and non-transferable, or veterans are given preference. Children of officials who are foreign nationals are likewise given top preference.
- Second Priority: Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of autonomous bodies, public sector companies, or institutions of higher education run by the Indian government get second preference.
- Third Priority: Children of State Government employees who are transferable and non-transferable are given third priority.
- Fourth Priority: Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of autonomous bodies, public sector organizations, or institutions of higher education run by state governments are given fourth priority.
- Fifth Priority: Children from any other category—including those of foreign citizens who are residing in India for work or other reasons—are given the fifth priority. Only if there are no Indian nationals on the waitlist for admission will these candidates be taken into consideration.
