Eligibility Criteria:

For the posts of Scientist-‘B’ and Scientific/Technical Assistant-‘A’ in the National Informatics Centre (NIC)

• Total vacancies for the designation Scientist-‘B’ Group ‘A’ (S&T) will be 288. Candidate must have done B.E/ B.Tech/ DOEACC B-level OR AMIE/ GIETE OR MSc OR MCA OR ME/ M.Tech OR M.Phil Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Sciences, Communication, Computer and Networking Security, Computer Application, Software System, Information Technology, Information Technology Management, Informatics, Computer Management, Cyberlaw, Electronics and Instrumentation
• Total vacancies for the designation Group ‘B’ (S &T) Scientific/Technical Assistant – ‘A’ will be 207. Candidate must have successfully completed B.E/ B.Tech/ M.Sc./ MS/ MCA Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics & Telecommunications, Computer Sciences, Computer and Networking Security, Software System, Information Technology, Informatics
• Age Limit to be completed years as on 26/03/2022

Age Limit: The upper age limit for the post-Scientist-‘B’ and Scientific/Technical Assistant-‘A’ mentioned below:

• Those who belong to UR / EWS category should be 30 years of age at least
• Candidates from SC / ST category should be of 35 years
• OBC (NCL*) should be 33 years
• PWD SC/ST should be 40 years and PWD OBC (NCL) should be 43 years.
• The service category candidate should be 35 years. SC/ST Service Candidates should be 40 years and OBC (NCL) Service Candidates should be 38 years.
• Ex-Servicemen’s age will be decided as per Government rules.

About NIC Recruitment 2022:

• The selection will be done via a written exam and interview for Scientist ‘B’ Post and only via written examination for Scientific/Technical Assistant – ‘A’ Post.
• It is important for all the eligible aspirants to submit an online application form for Scientist-’B’ and Scientific/Technical Assistant – ‘A’ along with the fee & screened-in. The candidate will be called for a written examination which will be for the duration of 3 hours. The exam will be commenced only in the English language only.
• Written Exam will be based on Objective Type Questions and OMR Based. The question paper will have 65% questions from Technical Area and 35% from Generic Area.
• There will be 120 objective-type Questions and out of them, 78 will be from Technical Area (Computer Science) and 42 based on Generic area.

Process to Apply NIC Recruitment:

Those who apply via online mode must visit the official website www.calicut.nielit.in between 26/02/2022 (10:00 A.M) & 26/03/2022 (05:00 P.M). There will be no other means of accepting application forms. Candidates must have an active email address and mobile number. The complete Application form can be submitted in 3 easy steps:

1. Registration with Email id
2. Submission of Application details.
3. Online payment of application fee

Candidate can access the Application details via ‘View Application Option’ available on Home Page. Sign in https://www.calicut.nielit.in/nic/Login.aspx with apt login credentials. It is also crucial for candidates to ensure that ‘Application Status’ available on the application form is “Application Submission Completed Successfully and Application Fee received” or “Application Submission Completed Successfully and Application Fee not Applicable”. If such application status does not appear that means that the application is incomplete.

Application Fee:

Applicants are required to make payment of the application fee which will be as follows:

• General and all other category candidates will pay Rs.800/-
• SC /ST / PWD / Women candidates will not pay the application fees.
• The application fee is non-refundable in nature.

Following should be ready before applying Online:

• Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking Details (If the fee is applicable)
• Scanned image of Photograph along with the signature in the prescribed format.
• Scanned copies of Date of Birth Certificate, Certificate of Educational Qualification, Photo ID proof, Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC), Category Certificate (PWD or any other), EWS Certificate, Certificate for age relaxation, NOC & Undertaking / Declaration if applicable – all in PDF format

List of documents to be submitted while applying using online mode:

1. Scanned Photograph with Signature (JPG format, size less than 50 KB)
2. Scanned copy in a single PDF file (less than 3 MB) of Date of birth, Id Proof, Essential educational certificates, Experience, Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) if applicable, EWS if applicable and Category Certificate (PWD or any other), if applicable
