Patna University Admission 2023: Patna University was established under the Act of the State Legislature of Bihar as a State University and is eligible to award degrees as specified by the UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956 through its own departments, its constituent colleges and/or its affiliated colleges in regular mode with the approval of Statutory Bodies/Councils. Application Process:

Visit the official website of Patna University. Click on ‘Apply Online’ and create your new account.

Patna University Application Fee:

Pay the application fee of INR 670 (including quota & application processing charges) by Credit/ Debit card/ UPI. Wallet/ Net-Banking.

Note: Applicants have to pay the application fee of INR 1000 (INR 700 for SC/ST) when applying for Doctoral Programme.

Undergraduate Course:

There are 43 types of undergraduate program offered by the University. Applicants applying for undergraduate program must have passed their higher secondary i.e. 12^th from recognized boards. To get admission to a good college under Patna University applicants should also have a good percentage in their higher secondary.

The Undergraduate Programmes leading to the award of the Bachelor’s Degrees in Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, and Law (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., LL.B., B.Ed., B.Lib. Science, B.B.A., B.C.A.), as well as the Diplomas and the Certificates (including add-on), are run exclusively at various colleges of the University. These colleges undergo their individual NAAC Accreditation Processes independently of the Patna University.

Postgraduate Course:

Patna University offers 51 types of the different postgraduate courses. Applicants applying for the postgraduate program must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 55% of marks in their respective field or equivalent to it from a recognized Board. To get admission to a good college under Patna University applicants should also have a good percentage in their undergraduate program.

The Post Graduate Programmes leading to the award of the Master’s Degrees (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., LLM, MEd, M. Lib. Science, M.B.A., M.C.A.), and theP.G. Diploma in Six Faculties (Humanities, Social Science, Science, commerce Education, and law) are run at the University Department.

Doctoral Course:

The Doctoral Level Programmes leading to the award, of the D.Lit., the D.Sc., and Ph.D. is run at the University Departments. Applicants must have at least 55% marks in the relevant master’s degree.

Exam Pattern:

 The examination is held offline with the use of the Blue/Black Pen and OMR sheet.

• The exam pattern of the entrance test for B.A.(Hons.) course will be as follows: –
• Objective type of offline test with the use of the Blue/Black Pen and OMR sheet.

The pattern of the entrance exam will be as follows: –

• Full Marks:  100
• Time of Examination:  Two Hours
• No. of objective questions: 100 (each carrying one mark.)

 B.A. (Hons):

• General Knowledge and Aptitude Test:    40 marks
• Questions related to all major subjects of Humanities &Social Sciences: 60 marks

B.Com.(Hons.):

• General Knowledge and Aptitude Test: 40 marks
• Questions related to the subject: 60 marks

B.Sc.(Hons.):

• General Knowledge and Aptitude Test: 10 mark
• Physics: 30 marks
• Chemistry: 30 marks
• Biology/Mathematics: 30 marks

Admit card:

The applicant can download their admit card from the official website of Patna University. The following details are mentioned on the Patna University admit card.

• Candidate’s name
• Candidate’s category
• Course name (applied for) and code
• Day and date of the entrance exam
• Examination centre’s Name and venue.

Result:

The applicant may check their result on the official website of the respective college they have applied to. If they have qualified, they will be consequently called for counseling and admission.

Cutoff:

Cut off depends upon the college for which the applicant has applied. The applicant can check cutoff online (by visiting a college official website) or offline (by visiting the college notice board). Once the merit list is announced. Applicants under the merit list have to visit the college for further counselling process.
