PGIMER 2024: It is an entrance examination for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses like M.Sc, M.Sc (MLT), DM/M.Ch, and Ph.D., Fellowship, and Post Doctoral Fellowship. The exam is conducted by Chandigarh-based Institute – Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER). PGIMER invites application forms for admission to postgraduate medical courses twice a year. Candidates seeking admission to their preferred postgraduate course must fulfill all the eligibility criteria to apply for admission. Candidates failing to fulfill the eligibility criteria will not be allowed to participate in the selection process laid down by the institute.

PGIMER 2024 Application Form:

PGIMER releases the application form every year for admission to postgraduate medical courses. Candidates seeking admission are required to follow certain steps to apply for the program. Below are the steps that are needed to be followed to apply for the exam:

• Visit the official website of the conducting body.
• Candidates are advised to read all instructions before moving ahead.
• Once instructions are read, log in to the admission portal through Registration details like Name, Email Address, and Mobile Number.
• Once login, candidates will be redirected to the application form. Fill the application form will all the required details.
• Upload the necessary documents along with ID proof.
• Pay the fees and submit the application form.
• Take the printout for future reference.

Application Fee:

As per the guidelines set by the college, candidates will be charged with a sum of the application fee. The application fee will differ as per the categories of the candidates. The application fees charged by candidates belonging to different categories are as follows:

PGIMER 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates seeking admission and are planning to apply for the entrance exam must be aware of the eligibility criteria. Following are the eligibility criteria that candidates must fulfill to apply for the exam:

• The candidate must be registered with the National or State Medical Registration Council. Failing this, candidates wouldn’t be eligible to apply for the exam.
• For admission to the DM program, candidates must have D. / M.S. / PG Medical Diploma with the minimum required marks by the institute.
• For admission to the MD/MS program, the candidate must have an M.B.B.S degree recognized by the Medical Council of India. The candidate must have a minimum percentage of marks as required by the medical college.
• For admission to the MDS program, the candidate must have a BDS degree from an institute recognized by the Dental Council of India.
• For successful eligibility, candidates must have completed a one-year rotatory internship training.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

Once the candidates are eligible for admission to their preferred courses, they will be called to take the entrance examination conducted by the college. Candidates who will clear the entrance examination will be called for the counselling/interview round. The final merit list will be prepared on basis of marks scored by candidates in the entrance examination and the interview round. Candidates selected in the final merit list will be called for the document verification and submission of fees.

Candidates appearing for the exam must be aware of the exam pattern. The exam pattern for the said exam is given as follows:

• The question will consist of 250 questions
• Each question will be of MCQ type.
• The duration of the exam is 180 minutes or 3 hours.
• The medium of the paper will be English only.
• There will be negative marking in the entrance examination.

Admit Card

PGIMER will release the admit card of those candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria. Candidates who have successfully registered for the exam and match the eligibility will be able to download the admit card from the official website. The admit card is released a few days prior to the entrance examination. Candidates are required to follow the given steps in order to download the admit card:

• Visit the official website.
• Click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ link
• Enter the application number and other required details.
• Save the admit card and take the printout.

It is mandatory for candidates to carry their admit cards to the exam center on exam day. Candidates failing to do this will not be allowed to take the entrance examination.

Result

Once the entrance exam is concluded, PGIMER will invite selected candidates for the counseling round. Candidates who will be invited for the counseling round have to go through counseling guidelines to avoid the last-minute hassle. The final result will be declared after the conclusion of the counseling process on the official website of PGIMER. Selected candidates then will be called for the document verification and submission of academic fees.
