PSU Recruitment Through GATE 2022: PSU or Public Sector Uundertaking is a governmental organization where the majority of shares lie with the State or Central Government. The recruitment of graduate engineers through GATE to PSU started in the year 2012 by some of them and gradually spread through some of the most prominent PSU at present like BHEL, GAIL, SAIL, BSNL, DMRC, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL, DRDO, NHAI, IOCL, RITES, and NHPC. Actually, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) tests your technical skills as well as your analytical and logical skills. You got to be very strong in fundamentals if you want to score high in the GATE examination. A high GATE score ensures you a highly coveted job at PSU. The GATE 2022 for 29 papers will be held across 199 cities in India and 6 cities abroad.

The candidates must complete the entrance test within the scheduled 3.0 hours during which they have to answer 65 questions which carry a total of 100 marks. As the competition is tough, the candidates are required to have good and valid scores for being considered for recruitment. It has become a benchmark for PSU to screen and recruit highly educated, quality graduates across different engineering disciplines. However, the numbers of vacancies that are filled through GATE to the recruitment at PSU are very high. At present, there are more than 50 PSUs that accept GATE scores.

IIT Guwahati is the conducting authority for the GATE 2022 examination. GATE scores are valid for three years for admission to M.Tech courses but not for recruitment purposes to PSU.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria which is required for jobs at PSU Recruitment Through GATE must be considered by the candidates and only if found eligible, they should apply for the job. Generally, a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline with maybe a minimum percentage of marks obtained in their graduation or CGPA as required by some PSU is to be considered while application. Some also require age limits. Some conduct interviews and group discussions after their initial screening on the basis of GATE score.

Application for PSU Recruitment through GATE 2022:

• It is different for different Units. Some of the institutes accept both online and offline applications whereas others accept only online applications.
• For offline applications, the candidates are required to download the application form. Take the printout. Fill the application forms and send them with some specified documents that may be required. However, the majority of the PSU accepts online applications only.
• The candidates who apply online are required to register, upload specific documents and fill up the application form. Some of the PSUs require an application fee to be paid online or through a challan or DD.

The details of the GATE score are very important and are the necessary requirements to fill the application forms of respective PSUs. The candidates are required to enter their GATE registration ID in the application form. It is entirely the individual decision of some of the PSU if they need to recruit candidates on the basis of the GATE score only or if they want to conduct some additional tests and/or interviews. Usually, the candidates are screened through their GATE score by the PSUs and afterward, they are subjected to interviews and group discussions for the final selection of candidates for recruitment.

Some reasons why candidates are eager to land a job at PSU:

• The candidates are selected through the GATE score which is supposed to be unbiased and cannot be manipulated hence the selection is supposed to be fair.
• The job at PSU is stable and the remuneration is good, but often the ability is ignored and seniority gets rewarded.
• Perks at PSU are lucrative but mind it, your personal relationship with your superior determines the types of perks that may be enjoyed by you.
