PTU Exam 2023 is the state level examination for admission to I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University’s (PTU) various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The examination is followed by counseling which is held to finalize the admission process. PTU Exam 2023 will be conducted by the I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University. PTU entrance test is conducted every year for the selection of candidates for admission to various streams like management, pharmacy, engineering, technology, etc. and other courses.

PTU Exam 2023 Application Process:

The PTU 2023 application form will be available online in the month of May 2023. The PTU application form will be available until the last week of June 2023. In order to get admission, the counseling fee will have to be submitted first. It will be necessary to submit other required documents pertaining to the eligibility requirements along with mentioning the chosen course. The cutoff date for submitting the application form varies from one course to another. After the application form is submitted, the candidate will get confirmation on his or her registered mobile number. The information in the application form needs to be submitted with great care and after rechecking to ensure that there are no mistakes. The information in the application form needs to be saved and a printout taken as the candidate will need the hard copy of the application form to complete the admission process.

Application Fee:

The application fee is Rs. 500 for general candidates. The application fee is Rs.250 for reserved categories like SC and ST categories. The online counseling fee for candidates for his or her choice of a particular stream is Rs .2000. The options for paying the aforementioned fees are debit cards, credit cards, and net banking.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The eligibility criteria for B.Tech is passing the 12th standards exam from a recognized board or IB Diploma or Two-year certificate course from SLIET with mathematics being mandatory. The relevant streams also need to have the subjects, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology & Computer Science. The candidate needs to have a good JEE Main 2023 Score Card. The candidate also needs to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.
• The eligibility criteria for B.Tech (Lateral Entry) is a Diploma approved by AICTE or SBTE. The candidate must have scored a minimum of 45% in aggregate. The minimum aggregate marks for candidates in the reserved category is 40%.
• The eligibility criteria for B.Arch is that the candidate should complete 10+2 or 10+3 years Diploma. He or she must have scored 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying exam. He or she should have a valid NATA 2023 Score Card.
• For being eligible to apply for B.Pharma the candidate must have passed 10+2  with Physics & Chemistry as the compulsory subject. The candidate should have either Mathematics or Computer Science or Biology or Biotechnology as one of the elective subjects.
• The eligibility criteria for B.Pharma (Lateral Entry) is a Diploma in Pharmacy with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. The minimum aggregate marks are 40% marks for the reserved SC or ST category
• The eligibility criteria for M.Tech is a B.E or a B.Tech degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The minimum aggregate marks are 45% marks for the reserved SC or ST category

The candidate should also have a  valid GATE Score Card.

• The eligibility criteria for MBA is a bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate should have a valid CMAT Score Card.
• The eligibility criteria for MCA is a three years  Bachelor’s Degree with the subjects, either Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Statistics or Business Statistics or Quantitative Techniques as compulsory or elective. The candidate also needs to have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate.
• The eligibility criteria for applying to the B.Sc stream is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 in the science stream from a recognized board or university with a minimum of 50%marks in aggregate.
• The eligibility criteria for applying to the qualification exam for the BBA degree is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board or university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

PTU Exam Syllabus:

• The syllabus for the UG courses includes topics from the 10+2 level.
• The syllabus for the PG level courses consists of topics from the graduation level.
• The syllabus varies from one course to another and candidates and the specific syllabus for a course can be checked online.

Exam Pattern:

The entrance exam will be held online. The examination is usually in multiple-choice mode. Candidates should go through the previous year’s paper and answer key to know the exact exam pattern for a particular course. For more specific information, go the address www.ptuexam.com

Admit Card:

Candidate can download the PTU 2023 Admit Card from the website by logging in with their user ID and password. The candidates should take a print out of the admit card to be produced for entry. The admit card contains crucial exam related information such as venue of exam, date, etc.

Result:

The result is declared online. The university usually announces the date of the result on the website.  The student has to enter their stipulated user id and password to check the result. The result is displayed on the official website as a scorecard. After counseling, the university announces the result of counseling for admission. Candidates get a notification via SMS. Candidates have to pay the counseling fee first in order to attend the counseling.

Cut Off

The course-specific cut-offs are usually announced by the university online. The I.K.Gujral PTU offers over 30 courses in Engineering and technology and has lacs of students including over 1500 international students. The University has over 120 AICTE and over 60 UGC institutes affiliated to it.
