PU MET 2023: Panjab University was established in 1882 as the University of Punjab and is among the oldest seat of learning in undivided India. The Panjab University has its beginning in the Punjab University which started in 1882 at Lahore in undivided India. Post the partition of India, in 1947, the university was divided into two. To differentiate one from the other, the university on the Indian side, the name of the university was changed from Punjab University to Panjab University. It was moved to Chandigarh in the year 1956 as the  Panjab University. Panjab University is accredited with a CGPA of 3.35 on a four-point scale at A Grade in 2015 The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body under University Grants Commission. It was ranked 1^st among Universities in India and ranked 38^th among universities in Asia by the Times Higher Education Asian University rankings in 2015.

Panjab University conducts the Panjab University Management Entrance Test (PU MET) for admission to all MBA programs. For admission to the MBA programs for the session starting in 2023, the Panjab University’s University Institute Of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) is conducting the  PU MET 2023.

PU MET 2023 Application Form:

PU MET 2023 dates will be released by the University. Candidates can check the important dates of PU MET exam 2023 events on the Official Website of Panjab University, https://puchd.ac.in/, or on the Official Website of the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences https://met.puchd.ac.in/.

It should be noted that Candidates seeking admission to Panjab University’s University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS)  MBA programs have to crack PU MET first. Panjab University has been released the online PU MET application form on 24th February 2023. One common form for all the management programs offered at PU’s UIAMS. The PU MET registration in online mode should be completed first and then a copy of the printout of the duly filled application form along with the necessary documents and photocopies, if any should be sent either by registered post/speed post or by hand within the stipulated date to Assistant Registrar, UIAMS, South Campus, Sector – 25, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014. Mode of Application can be both offline and online. The mode of Payment can be through Bank Challan or Other modes.

Panjab University 2023 Application Fee:

The application fee for the General category for PU MET 2023 is  Rs.2175 and the SC and ST candidates or persons with Disability is Rs.1087. The examination fee once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Process to Apply For PU MET 2023:

• Visit the official website i.e, uiams.puchd.ac.in
• On the home page, on the left side click on the Admission section.
• Now fill the Application Form.
• Now make the payment of the PU MET 2023 application according to the category.
• Click on submit.
• Take a printout of the application form and fee receipt for further usage.

PU MET 2023 Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria for admission to MBA (Retail Management) and (Banking & Insurance):

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
• Or, passed the final exam conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England.
• Or, at least 50% aggregate marks in the AIME exam.
• OR, passed the diploma AIME with 60% aggregate marks and having experience as a professional or in research or as a teacher for a minimum of 5 years.
• There is no age limit.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA (Infrastructure Management) and (Information Technology):

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
• Or, Bachelor’s degree in science with physics/ mathematics with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
• Or, Bachelor’s in Computer Science with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
• OR at least 50% aggregate marks in the AIME exam
• Or passed diploma of AIME with 60% aggregate marks and having experience as a professional or in research or as a teacher for a minimum of 5 years.

Eligibility criteria for MBA (Pharmaceutical Management):

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with at least 50% aggregate marks.
• Or, M.B.B.S with having 50% aggregate marks.
• Or, Bachelor’s degree in any science subject with 50% aggregate marks.

PUMET MBA Eligibility Criteria for (Hospital Management):

• BAMS/ MBBS/ BDS/ BHMS/ B.Sc in Nursing/ B.Pharmacy/ Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from a recognized university with 50% aggregate marks.

Panjab University Exam Pattern 2023:

• The PU MET 2023 exam will be conducted offline Mode.
• The Entrance Test will carry 85% weightage and be of 2 hours duration.
• It will consist of multiple-choice questions having four responses A, B, C & D.
• The medium of examination will be English only.
• There will be negative marking for Wrong answers i.e. marks will be deducted for wrong answers. If for each correct answer 1 mark is to be awarded, for a wrong answer 1/4 mark will be deducted
• The components of the test will include: (i) General Knowledge; (ii) Economics and Business Environment
  Awareness; (iii) Data interpretation and problem-solving; (iv) Numerical Ability; (v) Verbal Ability/ Reasoning and (vi) English Comprehension.

Admit Card:

• Panjab University usually releases the PU MET admit cards online in the month of May.
• Log in to the official website of Panjab University at https://puchd.ac.in/ and use their stipulated Login ID and Password to enter the intranet.
• select the options to display the admit card on the screen
• Download the admit card displayed on the screen.
• Save it digitally and also take a printout of the admit card.

Result:

The Panjab University declares the result of PU MET usually in the month of June. The PU MET results are published online. Candidates can log in with the ID and Password given to them at the time of registration.

Cut Off:

Panjab University does not stipulate a PU MET cutoff for the selection of candidates. The cut-off score is decided by the individual institutions that accept PUMET 2023 scores for admission. The candidates should contact the individual institutions to know about the accepted cut-off marks.
