Rashtriya Military School Admission 2022: Rashtriya Military Schools are English medium residential Public Schools run by the Ministry of Defence to impart quality education to the wards of defense personnel and civilians from Classes VI to XII. These Schools are the founding members of the Indian Public Schools’ Conference (IPSC). Established in the year 1925, these Schools are among the oldest Public Schools in India. Rashtriya Military Schools of India is located in five prominent states Ajmer (Rajasthan), Bangalore (Karnataka), Chail (Himachal Pradesh), Dholpur (Rajasthan), and Belgaum (Karnataka).

The Candidates are admitted into Class VI & IX through a Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted under the aegis of the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army). The school takes initiative in providing residential facilities so that students coming from various parts of the country find it comfortable to stay and study well.

Rashtriya Military School Admission 2022 Applications Form:

The application form and Prospectus are easy to acquire from any Rashtriya Military School by paying Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for SC/ST Category applicants) via Demand Draft DD or Cash. School provides the facility of receiving application form via post by forwarding self-addressed slip and Rs. 650/- (Rs.350 for SC/ST Category). Extra charges of Rs.50/- will be for postage via Demand Draft payable at respective Rashtriya Military School (in favor of Principal, Rashtriya Military School). All applications will be routed through Rashtriya Military School only. Submit the filled application form in October.

Rashtriya Military School Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification

• For Class 6:  No previous class educational qualification is compulsory for admission to class VI.
• For Class 9:  The candidate should have successfully cleared class VIII from a recognized school before the date of admission. Those who are appearing in classes V & VIII may also apply.

Age Limit:

• If a child wants to seek admission in class VI then the appropriate age should be 10 to 12 years as of 31 March 2022. The admission will be provided to boys only.
• If a child wants to seek admission in class IX then the appropriate age should be 13 to 15 years as of 31 March 2022. The admission will be provided to boys only.

Important to Note: There will be six months of age relaxation given to wards of Personnel Killed in Action for admission in class VI and IX.

Reservation:

• JCOs / OR of Army, Navy, and AF (Including Ex-servicemen) will get seat reservations of 70%
• For Officers of Navy, Army, and AF (Including Retired Officers) and Wards of Civilians will get seat reservation of 30%
• 50 seats will be reserved for those who killed in Action Category in all five Rashtriya Military Schools together at any point in time.
• Reservation for SC will be 15%
• For ST Category will be 7.5%

Selection Process:

The candidates chosen in order of merit list based on total marks acquired CET and interview will be admitted to Rashtriya Military Schools located in five different states based on the availability of seats/vacancies, medical fitness as per the seat reservation norms for various categories.

Rashtriya Military School Admission 2022 Exam Pattern:

As mentioned earlier that admission to boys in class VI and IX will be provisioned via OMR-based CET (Common Entrance Test). Given below is the exam pattern for the same:

Exam Pattern for class VI:

Questions in the paper will appear from the syllabus of class V from the subjects such as General Knowledge, Intelligence, Mathematics, and English Only.

• English will be for 50 marks and the minimum qualifying marks to be attained is 35%
• Intelligence Test will be for 50 marks and the minimum qualifying marks to be attained is 40%
• Mathematics will be for 50 marks and the minimum qualifying marks to be attained is 40%
• General Knowledge & Current Affairs will be for 50 marks and the minimum qualifying marks to be attained is 40%
• The interview will be for 20 marks

Important to note: It is important for candidates to successfully qualify for the entrance test. English marks will not be counted in the merit list preparation.

Exam Pattern for Class IX:

Questions in the paper will appear from the syllabus of class VIII from subjects such as Hindi, English, Social Science, Mathematics, and Science only.

• Paper 1 includes three subjects – English, Hindi, and Social Science. Qualifying marks are 50, 20, and 30 respectively.
• Paper 2 includes two subjects –Maths and Science. Qualifying marks are 50 in both subjects.
• The interview will be for 50 marks

Rashtriya Military School Exam 2022 Syllabus:

• Those who have applied for class VI will prepare from the books studied in class V and those who have applied for IX will prepare from the books studied in class VIII.
• The mode of language to answer the questions can be English or Hindi (depending on the child’s choice).

Rashtriya Military School Admission 2022 Result:

The merit list and school allotment will be declared by the IHQ of MoD (Army), DGMT / MT-15. However, unsuccessful candidates will not receive any intimation. The final result will be uploaded on the official website of Rashtriya Military School.

Interview:

Those who have attained success in CET (Common Entrance Test) will be called for Interview Round at any of the Rashtriya Military Schools. Marks acquired in the interview round will be added to the final score and a merit list will be prepared accordingly.

Final Selection:

Candidates selected in order of merit on the basis of total marks secured by them in the admission test and the interview will be admitted to different Rashtriya Military Schools based on the availability of vacancies, medical fitness, and as per the reservations norms laid down for various categories. Qualified candidates will be allotted school purely on the basis of Merit and vacancy available in school.

Medical Fitness:

Those who have successfully qualified for the written test and interview round will move for the medical fitness exam before seeking admission to Rashtriya Military Schools according to the norms /criteria mentioned in AFMSF-2 and only in the Hospital mentioned in the application form. The medical examination will take place in any of the hospitals mentioned in the prospectus. If a candidate is found medically unfit by the board of officers will not be admitted to any of the schools. It is equally crucial for every candidate to remain medically fit during his stay at Rashtriya Military School. A fitness certificate will be provisioned from the respective Hospital will help in the admission process.
