SSC GD Constable 2024: The Staff Selection Commission (SSSC Constable) conducts an open exam through the organisation of the CAPF (CRPF) website for the recruitment for the posts of Constable GD in the BSF, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, NIA, SSB, and SSF, and Rifleman in the Assam Rifles. The Staff Selection Commission has the authority to conduct a national-level entrance exam for many organisations as a single-level exam. These organisations include the Border Security Force (BSF), the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the Assam Rifles (AR), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). These jobs are much in demand, and every year, lots of candidates apply for the openings.

The test will be conducted in both online and offline modes. The commission will conduct the written exam for the candidates who qualified in PST or PET in both the online (internet-based) and offline (paper-based) formats. A very large number of candidates appear in this exam every year. Those candidates who are going to appear for these exams should prepare according to the syllabus prescribed by the SSC. The examination is generally held in October. The exam is held at various examination centres across the country, and thousands of candidates take part in it. It should be noted that the cut-off marks for general/OBC category candidates and SC/ST/PWD category candidates are different.

Procedure for the SSC GD Constable 2024:

Step 1:  Physical Standards Test (PST) or Physical Endurance Test (PET): The first stage for SSC GD Constable is the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST).

Candidates qualifying for the Physical test, are instructed to appear for the Written Examination. Physical Standards Test (PST)/Physical Endurance Test (PET) is scheduled and conducted by the CAPFs, so CRPF conducts the Physical Test for Constable GD.

Step 2:  SSC GD Constable 2024 Written Examination: The next Stage is the Written Exam. This exam can give Exams both offline as well as online. So the candidates will appear for the Written Exams depending upon the Mode chosen by them & their performance in the Physical Exam. The Commission then conducts the written examination for the qualified candidate’s PST/PET in online (Computer-based) and offline (paper mode) mode.

Those candidates who do qualify in the PST / PET will have to appear in the written exam, the online or offline mode being conducted by SSC.

On-Line Exam will be only in English, and Hindi. Off-line Exams will be either in Hindi, English,  or other Regional Languages.

Admit cards for the written examination are uploaded on the website of the concerned SSC Regional Office. Also, the call letters for candidates applying for off-line exams are dispatched by post.

The written examination for the GD Constable Recruitment 2024, is tentatively scheduled for October 2024.

Step 3 (Medical Examination): Candidates who are declared qualified by the SSC in Written exams are asked to appear for the Medical Examination. The Commission processes and declares the results of written examinations & the list of candidates that are shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination (DME and will be given to MHA/Co-coordinating CAPF i.e. CRPF.

SSC GD Exam Pattern 2024:

The written exam consists of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks, with the following composition:

The questions will be of Multiple Choice Objective Type: –  For the off-line examination, Questions will be set bilingually both in Hindi & English; or in three languages of English/ Hindi/Kashmiri (Urdu Script for J&K), Gujarati (Gujarat), Telegu (Andhra Pradesh), Marathi (Maharashtra), Kannada (Karnataka), Malayalam (Kerala), Tamil (Tamil Nadu), Oriya(Odisha), Bengali (West Bengal and Tripura), Punjabi (Gurmukhi script for Punjab), Assamese (Assam & Arunachal Pradesh), Manipuri(Manipur) and Mizo(Mizoram). Accordingly, the Paper Can Be Answered in any of the above languages in parts A, B &C. Candidates will have to attempt either the English or Hindi section for Part -D, of the question paper.

Syllabus of SSC GD 2024:

• General Intelligence & Reasoning test: Analytic aptitude &ability to observe and distinguish patterns through questions of non-verbal type. It will include questions on similarities and differences, analogies, spatial orientation, spatial visualization, visual memory, observation, discrimination, relationship concepts, arithmetic number series, arithmetical reasoning, and figural classification, non-verbal series, coding, and decoding, etc.
• General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in part will be trying to test the candidates for their general awareness of the environment around them. Questions will test the knowledge of Current Events, such as matters of everyday observations, and their experiences, and their scientific aspect. The test questions will include topics relating to India & the neighboring countries, especially about History, Culture, Economic Scene, Sports, Geography, Indian Constitution, General Polity, and scientific research, etc.
• Elementary Mathematics: This part will include questions related to the Number Systems, Decimals and Fractions, Computation of Whole Numbers, Relationship between Numbers, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Interest, Profit and Loss, Averages, Discount, Time and Distance, Mensuration, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
• English/Hindi: To test the candidate’s basic ability to understand English/ Hindi, as well as the basic comprehension, would be tested.

SSC GD Constable 2024 Cut Offs:

The Commission prepares the final merit list of the candidates, category-wise, and state-wise without making any forced allocation. The forced allocation will be done by the Nodal CRPF/MHA and the final result will also be declared by them.

Minimum cut-off the percentage of marks for selection will include General and Ex-servicemen  – 35% and SC/ST/OBC: 33%.
