SSC Stenographer: Staff Selection Commission organizes national level entrance exams for many organizations as a single level exam. These organizations include Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Assam Rifles (AR) Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). These jobs are much in demand and every year lots of candidates apply for the recruitments.
Staff Selection Commission publishes every year notification for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ vacancy. All candidates who are interested can apply for the post of Stenographer by filling the application form. The Examination is comprised of two parts – A Written exam that has objective type questions. It is then followed by a Stenography skill test with speeds of 100 w.p.m. & 80 w.p.m. for the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ &’ D’ respectively

SSC Stenographer Application Form:
The candidates must visit the Official website, then go to the home page and click the link for apply online form Part I. Then the format of the application form will become up on the screen. Candidates will then fill the correct details about themselves in the form. They should then check the filled information in the form again and submit and make payment. Then, get back for Registration Part 2. Here the candidates have to upload photos and signatures. The candidates must take the hard copy of the form. Candidates can apply either Online or Offline. Candidates can send their completed applications to any Regional Director of SSC where they want to have their examination centre.
Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.100 as the application fee. No fees for SC/ST/PH/Women & Ex-Serviceman. If you are applying Online, Net Banking is accepted.

- Online: Payment can be done through SBI Challan/Net banking/ credit/debit cards for a fee of Rs 100.

Steps to Apply for SSC Stenographer Online:
Candidates who want to apply online SSC Stenographer. Just follow below steps you will get the hep to register application form:
- Step 1: Open the SSC official website- https://ssc.nic.in/
- Step 2: You see there Apply Online click this link
- Step 3: After that you will see some field and register your self
- Step 4: Provide all details – Candidates Name, Date of Birth, Phone Number, Email ID, etc.

Exam Pattern:
There are a total of 3 parts in this exam. Two of them are of 50 marks, and the one is 100 marks. There would be one mark for every question.
The section names are mentioned below:
- General Awareness – This section will be of 50 marks.
- General Intelligence & Reasoning – This section is also of 50 marks.
- English Language & Comprehension – This section will contain questions of 100 Marks in Total.
On qualification of the written exam, the candidates have to appear for the Stenography Test.
- For Stenographer Grade D – Speed is 80 wpm & transcription time is 50 minutes for English and 65 minutes for Hindi.
- For Stenographer Grade C – Speed is 100 wpm & transcription time is 40 minutes for English and 55 minutes for Hindi

Syllabus for Section 1 (General Awareness):
Names of popular books and authors, Geography, Current affairs, History, Economic Scenario, Scientific Research issues & general policies. Questions would be both verbal & non-verbal type. It may include, questions on analogies, space visualization, spatial orientation, analysis, problem-solving, judgment, similarities and differences, decision making, discrimination, observation, visual memory, relationship concepts, arithmetic number series, arithmetical reasoning & figural classification, etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning – Section 2:
The contents of this section include concepts & topics and other topics like Pattern-folding & unfolding, Number Series, Figural pattern &completion, Semantic series, Symbolic operations &Analogy, Symbolic and number analogy, Venn diagrams.
Section 3 (English Language):
The section-3 contains topics mostly related to English – Active and passive voice, Homonyms, Synonyms and antonyms, Direct and Indirect Conversion, Fill in the blanks, Comprehension passage, Spellings, Miss-spelt words detection, Cloze passage.

Tips to Crack the Test:
- You should join any nearby Institute, you need to study the previous years’ questions papers or study material from competitive exams books. You can find suitable books online covering the syllabus, questions, pattern for SSC Stenographer Examination.
- Must focus on the English Language, better the English, more chances. Secondly, Keep Practicing for reasoning. However, it’s not very hard. Thirdly, for GS, You should take Science, Geography and Civics very seriously
- You should have a thorough knowledge of the syllabus.
- Start preparing by going through all the concepts one-by-one. Just Ensure you are not in a hurry yourself. But keep doing this. Do not fall back. Practice what you learn.
- Start taking mock tests. Take a mock test every day.
Analyze your results properly. You can check which answers were incorrect. Now, you can go back to the topics & practice very hard. - Avoid working the last day. Refresh your mind by doing something interesting. Probably catch up with your friends and play a sport.
