STET 2024 is commonly identified as STET or Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test. HRDD or the Human Resource Development Department of Sikkim organises STET every year. STET is a regional-level admissibility test that is led for the employment of teachers in varied Primary and Higher Primary Schools run by the state government. From classes, I to V is the primary section while the classes from VI to VIII belong to the higher primary section. Willing and qualified candidates can fill the online application form available on the official website. Within the scheduled date and time candidates need to complete the application procedure. STET 2024 Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria or admissibility norms before filling the application form. The eligibility norms for STET 2024 are as follows:
- Applicants must be Indian nationals.
- Must fulfill the native/foreign status requisite as informed by the STET conducting authority.
Requisite for Primary Section: (Grades I – V):
- Aspirants with at least 45% marks in Higher Secondary or in the class 12 board Examination are eligible to apply. A final year B.Ed. candidate or D.El.Ed candidate or a candidate with a diploma in Special Education are fit to apply for STET 2024.
- Graduates from Science or Humanities stream with at least 50% score are eligible to apply.
- B.ED passed candidates can also apply for STET 2024.
Requisite for Higher Primary Section: (Grades VI-VIII):
- Graduates from Science or Humanities stream with at least 50% score and with a B.Ed degree from any renowned university is fit to apply for STET 2024.
- A final year B.Ed B.Sc. (Ed.) or B.El.Ed or B.A. (Ed.), (Special Education) with at least 50% score in graduation in Science or Arts stream are suitable to apply for STET 2024.
- Applicants must be between 21 to 35 years of age.
- For reserved category candidates (SC/PH/ST) there will be 5% relaxation in age as per government rules.
STET Application Fee:
The application fee irrespective of all categories is Rs. 400 /-. Payment of the application fee can be done using internet banking, credit or debit card. Applicants can use the offline method for paying the application fee.
STET 2024 Application Form:
Sikkim Human Resource Development Department or HRDD issues STET Application Form via online method at their authorised website. On July 2024 the application form for STET will be accessible. Candidates can go to the home page of the official web portal to get the link for online application form. Applicants need to click the Apply Online button in order download the application form. By using credit card or debit card or internet banking applicants can pay for the application form. In JPG format applicants need to furnish their scanned photos and signature with other necessary information. The size of the photograph must be as recommended by the authority. Candidates need to choose the examination centre after uploading the application form. Applicants can choose both primary and secondary examination centres at the same time. The correction mode is available for the STET application form. Before submitting the form applicants must take a printed version of the same for future use.
Exam Pattern:
STET organising committee has delivered exam pattern and some guidelines to applicants. The examination pattern for STET are as follows:
- STET Test will take place in offline method.
- Length of the examination will be for 150 Mins.
- The examination will have Objective based questions.
- There will be 150 questions in the test paper
- For each correct entry I mark will be given
- There will be no provision for negative marking.
- In Paper I there will be 30 questions on each topic.
- Paper I is divided into five topics viz Language I, Language II, Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics and Environmental studies.
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- For Paper I total marks is 150.
- Paper II has four topics viz Language I, Language II, Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics and Science or Social Science.
- There will 30 questions each from the first three topics.
- Mathematics and Science or Social Science will have 60 questions for 60 marks.
- In Paper II every question carries 1 mark.
- The total marks for Paper II are 150.
Syllabus:
The STET curriculum commonly comprises the details of the subjects covered in the entrance test. This article provides all significant features of the curriculum for STET, which is approved by the committee.
Child Development & Pedagogy comprises of Improvement of child, Understanding knowledge and Educational concerns.
Language I focus on Hindi.
Language II focuses on English.
Mathematics deals with geometry, algebra, data handling, sets etc.

Admit Card:
Entrants can avail their Admit Card using the online method from the certified website of the STET organising board. Admit Card for STET 2024 will be available in March. Applicants can get STET 2024 Admit Card by providing the necessary details like Application Number and DOB. Candidates must go through their particulars in the Admit Card before downloading it. For any inaccuracies in the admit card applicants must go to the entrance conducting body for its immediate rectification.
Steps to download the Admit Card:
- check the authorised website.
- Click the download option for STET Admit Card
- Provide Date of Birth with Registration Number.
- Press the Submit option.
- The Admit Card for STET 2024 will be displayed on the screen.
- Get a print out of the same after downloading it.
Result:
The Sikkim Human Resource Development Department /HRDD is the organising board and takes accountability to announce the STET Results online at their certified website. The entrants should avail their result by providing their Registration ID, Admit Card Number and DOB&semaphore code.
Selection Procedure:
The selection process is not complicated at all. The candidate’s selection is based on the performance in the STET. Only competent applicants will be chosen for the post of teachers in Government based schools located in Sikkim. Entrants will be observed in both the papers and it is mandatory to cleared both the papers.
