Eligibility Criteria:
It is crucial to go through the eligibility criteria before applying for TNNLS 2022. Candidate must fulfill the following:
- Entrant must have successfully completed class XII /CBSE/other examination from some recognized university with a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate and 40% aggregate for those belonging to SC/ST category to seek admission to undergraduate law courses.
- Candidates must have successfully completed in three/five years B.L. or LL.B. or B.L. (Hons.) or LL.B. (Hons.) or some other equivalent course with a minimum 55% in aggregate and 50% for those belonging to SC/ST category for providing admission in LLM course.
- If you are planning to apply for admission in a Ph.D course in law, then you must have successfully completed post-graduation in the relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks and 50% for those belonging to the SC/ ST category.

Selection Process:
To seek admission to courses such as BA.LLB And B.Com-LLB candidate first needs to go through Common Law Aptitude Test. Then a merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s performance which will be followed by the merit-cum-preference list for applicants.
Exam Pattern for Common Law Aptitude Test:
- The Paper will consist of multiple-choice questions
- The exam duration will be 2 hours.
- The candidate will receive an I mark for every correct answer and there will be a deduction of 0.25 mark for every incorrect answer.
- The paper has five sections – English with comprehension accounts (40 marks), General Knowledge and Current Affairs (50 marks), Numerical Ability (20 marks), Legal Aptitude for (50 marks), and Logical Reasoning for (40 marks).

Admit Card:
The candidate will appear TNNLS 2022 examination with an admit card. There will be no proviso of entering the examination hall without an admit card. This card contains important information such as personal details, exam related info, etc. It is important to carry the admit card along to the examination centre.
Exam Result:
The result for TNNLS 2022 declared through the official website of Tamil Nadu National Law School. Those who have appeared in the examination may check the result via online mode. Based on the cut-offs applicants will be called for group discussions and personal interviews.
Cut Off:
Cut off is the minimum marks attained by the candidate to seek admission to Tamil Nadu National Law School for the law courses. The cut off will be created according to the category and will be released separately for 5 years integrated and one-year LLM programs.
Reservation Criteria:
There will be seat reservation for two programs-110 seats, 55 seats each. Given below is the list of seat distribution:
- For A resident of Tamil Nadu, OC category 8 seats, BC (O) 7, BC (M) 1, MBC 5 seats, SC (O) 4 seats, SC (A) 1, ST 1.
- In the All India category, OC 20 seats, SC 4 seats, ST 2 seats, and NRI 3 seats.
Admission Process:
Interested candidate has to apply through the application form using online mode and after appearing in the examination and after the result declaration, the candidate will be selected on the merit list. Accordingly, the candidate will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The candidate will seek the offer letter and will be able to acquire admission to the program.
