TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2023: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is a department of the government of TNPSC stands for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. It is a department of government when the Madras Service Commission came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929. TNPSC takes on the responsibility to recruit the personnel into the state’s public service.

The process to apply for TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2023:

  • The candidate needs to apply for the examination via online mode.
  • Candidate must have completed the One Time Registration Process on the TNPSC Website. This One Time Registration is relevant for 5 years from the registration date. Those who have already completed will make use of their current User ID and Password to log in. There is no proviso of creating a registration ID more than once. Make use of One Time Registration User Id and Password to sign in TNPSC Official website.
  • Click the “Apply” link against the recruitment notice displayed on the TNPSC official website.
  • Fill all the details.
  • Choose the name of the post /posts for which you wanted to apply
  • Upload the photograph and the signature
  • Submit the application form and ensure to take a print or save the application in PDF format.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Education Qualification: Candidate must have completed graduation in any streams such as B.Com., B.A., B.Sc., B.E., B.Tech. etc., to apply for the Group 2 Exam in relevant specialization from some recognized university or board with at least aggregate of marks.
  • Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Age Limit: Minimum age limit to apply is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 36 years. The specific age group for some of the posts is mentioned below:
  • For all posts, (Except Sub Registrar Grade-II, Probation Officer in Prison Dept. and Social Defence Dept.) minimum age should be 18 years
  • Sub Registrar Grade-II post required a minimum age of 20 years
  • For Probation Officer in Prison Dept., the minimum age should be 22 years
  • For the post of Probation Officer in the Social Defence Dept, the minimum age should be 26 years

Note: There will be no need to have language proficiency in the Tamil language.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2023 Fee:

The candidate will make a payment of Rs. 250 and Examination Fee Rs. 100 via Offline or Online mode. However, SC and ST category candidates are exempted from paying any fee.

Exam Pattern for Preliminary Exam:

The examination pattern for TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2023is as follows:

The Exam will take place in three parts:

Part I-Preliminary Exam:

  • The Preliminary Exam will have 200 questions for 300 marks. The exam duration will be 3 hours. It will have 2 sections – The General Studies Section and the Language Section. The General Studies section will appear in two languages, Tamil and English. However, the Language Section will be either in Tamil or English (according to the choice made by the candidate during the time of filling the application form). The section-wise are mentioned below:
  • General Studies will have 75 Questions
  • Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (SSLC Standard) will have 25 Questions
  • General Tamil (SSLC Standard) will have 100 Questions

(or)

  • General English (SSLC Standard) will have 100 Questions
  • Time Duration will be 3 hours

Exam Pattern (Main):

The Main examination will further have 4 sections and details are as follows:

  • Section A: In section, 30 questions of 3 mark each which makes 90 marks. Candidates can attempt any 30 questions from the given 35 questions.
  • Section B: This section will consist of 15 questions of 8 marks each which makes 120 marks overall. The candidate will attend any 15 questions out of 18 questions.
  • Section C: This section will have 2 questions for 15 marks each. Candidate can attempt any 2 questions out of 3 given questions.
  • Section D will consist of 2 questions of 30 marks each. The candidate has to attend any 2 questions out of 4 given questions.

Note: There will be no negative marking.
