UID Design Aptitude Test 2023: UID, or the United World Institute of Design, organises the UID Design Aptitude Test for candidates willing to make a career in design. Both undergraduate degrees in design and post-graduate degrees in design are offered to the candidates after they qualify for the UID Design Aptitude Test 2023. The admission procedure of UID is a binary process. In the first step, there is the UID DAT, or Design Aptitude Test, and the second step deals with Situation Assessment and Portfolio Assessment.

UID offers a 4-year course in Bachelor of Designing. Candidates can opt for varied B.Des courses at their undergraduate level. The UG courses are Product Design, Automobile and Transportation Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, and so on. The M.Des course is a 2.6-year course focused on multiple specialisations viz. textile and knitwear design, fashion design, industrial design, etc.

UID Design Aptitude Test 2023 Application Form:

Applicants can download the application form from the authorized website of UID. The form needs to be completed cautiously in a handwritten format. Applicants must suffice the application form with all valid documents as asked in the information brochure of UID.  Any final year applicant applying for B.Design or M.Design course needs to enclose all associated documents with the application form.

Application Fee:

Applicants can pay the application fee online or offline mode. By using Credit Card, Debit Card or Internet online application fees can be paid and for offline payment of application fees candidates can pay via demand draft or DD. Applicants need to Rs. 2000 as an application fee which needs to be enclosed with the application form along with other necessary documents.

Steps to Apply for UID DAT 2022 Application Form: Online Mode

• Firstly the candidate will have to apply online at the official website of the United World Institute of Design at karnavatiuniversity.edu.in with the required information and get the registration number.
• On the home page, click on the UID 2022-23 Admission Form.
• First, fill in the registration details like First Name, Middle Name, Surname, Email, and Mobile Number.
• Hit on the Sign-Up button.
• Then Log in with the credentials.
• Fill out the application form, and click on the submit button.
• Take the printout for future reference.

UID Design Aptitude Test 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for UID Aptitude Tests are different for UG and PG design courses offered at the United World Institute of Design. Candidates can go through the eligibility criteria for the UID Aptitude Test 2023 for Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) courses below.

For the B.Des Program:

The entrance test of UID for UG courses has the following norms which an applicant has to follow if he/she wishes to appear for the entrance test of UID.

• Candidates need to qualify the senior secondary examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate irrespective of any stream from any renowned senior secondary board as per the date of initiation of educational sessions from July 2023.
• Candidates need to qualify for both the steps of the UID Design Aptitude Test in order to get admission.

For the M.D. Course:

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility norms of the UID Aptitude Test in order to be seeded for admission in the MDes course. The eligibility norms are as follows:

• Candidates must qualify for graduation with or without any specialisation with at least a 50% aggregate score from any renowned university.
• Candidates need to qualify for both the steps of the UID Design Aptitude Test in order to get admission.

Exam Pattern:

UID Design Aptitude Test 2023 will probably take place in February for B.Design and M.Design courses. The entrance test will include the Common intelligence Test, Critical Assessment Test, and Innovative/Creative Ability Test. The total marks for the entrance are 100 and the duration of the test is 150 minutes.

The UID Entrance test consists of a written test, applicants who are eligible in this admission round need to seat for the Creative Situation Test, Personal Interview, and Portfolio Round. Candidates who perform the best are selected for admission to UID.

• Candidates qualifying for the written test have to go through the following rounds to be eligible for admission to UID:
  • Situation Test session:  In this round candidates need to make a model based on the given situation.
  • Personal Interview session:  Candidates need to seat for interview rounds with all their portfolios.

Syllabus:

There is no specified syllabus for UID Entrance Test. Conversely, candidates are recommended to check the below-stated topics for UID Aptitude Test in order to score better in the entrance test.

• Syllabus for General IQ Test: In this examination, applicants are assessed on the base of their skill concerning contemporary matters and General Knowledge. The number of questions may differ in this segment and for every single course. Applicants need to be familiar with subjects associated with main activities in India and the world in the specified year.
• Syllabus for Critical Analysis Test: Questions in this segment assess an applicant’s capability to recognize a problem and subsequently apply cognitive skills to resolve the central concern. Understanding of conceptions and preparation of creative skills as well as horizontal thinking would be beneficial.
• Syllabus for Creative Ability Test: This examination is directed to evaluate the instinctual capability, the influence of observation in perception advancement, and the design skill of the candidate. An important aspect of the test is the creative and innovative use of color and illustration skills.

Candidates who have successfully completed the application procedure will get the admit card for UID entrance. Applicants can follow the below-mentioned steps to acquire the admit card via online mode.

Admit Card:

Applicants have to download the admit card for the UID Design Aptitude Test from the authorized website of UID. Applicants must carry UID admit card while appearing for the UID Design Aptitude Test. Moreover, they are also required to display the admit card delivered by the college to the examination controller. Any candidate without a valid admits card will be detained from the entrance examination.
