UPPSC PCS 2023UPPSC PCS 2023: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) will soon release a notification for provincial civil services (PCS). Every year, UP PCS examinations are held for different posts of civil servant. PCS is the administrative civil service under Group A state service of the executive branch of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded in 1858. Public Service Commission officers hold various posts at the sub-divisional, district, divisional, and state levels, from conducting revenue administration to maintaining law and order. Through the UP PCS examination, appointment of candidates is done in various departments under the state government of Uttar Pradesh.   • Click on the ‘Apply Online’ link.
  • A new window will open in which candidates will have to choose the language in which they want to view the advertisement.
  • Fill in all the Basic details in the Registration forms like the name of the candidates or parents, category, gender, address, and other contact details for communication purposes (phone number and email ID).
  • Check whether all the information filled is correct or not.
  • The email id and contact number provided by the candidate must be valid.
  • Upload scanned photo and signature in prescribed size and format.

Uttar Pradesh PCS 2023 Eligibility Criteria:

There are some eligibility criteria that candidates must have to fulfill in eligible to apply for the UP PCS examination. The eligibility criteria have been given as follows:

  • The Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate must also have the domicile of Uttar Pradesh
  • Candidate must have done Graduate/Post Graduate/Diploma or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • The age of the candidates must be between 21 -40 years.
  • The candidates of the reserved category will be provided relaxation in their upper age.

Exam Pattern:

UPPCS prescribed examination is divided into stages of an exam with three different categories.

  • Preliminary Exam
  • Main Exam
  • Interview

Uttar Pradesh PCS Preliminary Exam Pattern:

  • The first stage of the exam is the Preliminary examination
  • There will be two question papers in the UP PSC preliminary exam
  • The type of question asked in the exam will be an objective type.
  • In this exam there will be negative marking, 1/3rd of marks will be deducted for every incorrect attempt.

UP PCS Main Exam Pattern:

  • The second phase is the main exam which only those candidates will be called for who qualify for the preliminary exam.
  • The main exam will consist of eight question papers.
  • The questions will be descriptive type in the main exam.
  • The first two papers would include General studies-type questions.
  • The other four question papers have two optional subjects in which students will have to opt from the list of subjects mentioned in the authorized notification.
  • Candidates will write three essays further in the essay paper.
  • The mode of language will be both languages i.e. Hindi or English.

Uttar Pradesh PCS 2023 Interview:

The last stage is that of the interview the candidates’ qualifying mains exam will be called for interview. The interview has not been prescribed any stable syllabus and pattern/process of the interview. He/she has to do practice by himself without depending on others.

Syllabus 2023:

UPPSC Prelims Syllabus: Paper I

  • Current events of National and International importance: On Current Events of National and International Importance, candidates will be expected to know about them.
  • General Science: This section’s questions will be from general appreciation and understanding of Science including matters of everyday observation and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person, who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline
  • Indian History: Ancient, Medieval, Modern: In History emphasis should be on a broad understanding of social, economic, and political aspects of Indian History. In the Indian National Movement, the candidates are expected to have a synoptic view of the nature and character of the freedom movement, growth of nationalism, and attainment of Independence
  • Indian and World Geography- Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World: In World Geography only a general understanding of the subject will be expected. Questions on the Geography of India will relate to the Physical, Social & Economic Geography of India.
  • Indian Governance and Polity: It covers details of Indian Polity, economics, and Culture, questions will test knowledge of the country’s political system including Panchayati Raj and Community Development, broad features of Economic policy in India, and Indian CulturePolitical System, Constitution, Public Policy, Panchayati Raj, Rights issues, etc.
  • Social and Economic Development: Sustainable Development Poverty Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.General Issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity, and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization.
  • Environmental Ecology, Climate Change, and Biodiversity – general issues that do not require subject specialization: The questions will be with respect to problems and the relationship between Population, Environment, and Urbanisation. General Issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity, and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization, General awareness of the subject is expected from candidates.

Paper-II: Essay Paper Syllabus

In this paper, candidates need to write three essays (in about 700 words) in three hours. There will be three sections in the UPPSC Essay question paper and the candidates need to choose one topic from each section. The section-wise syllabus is as follows:

  • Section A: (1) Literature and Culture. (2) Social sphere. (3) Political sphere.
  • Section B: (1) Science, Environment, and Technology. (2) Economic Sphere (3) Agriculture, Industry, and Trade.
  • Section C: (1) National and International Events. (2) Natural Calamities, Land slide, Earthquake, Deluge, Drought, etc. (3) National Development programs and projects.

General Studies I (Paper III):

  • Modern Indian history (from A.D.1757 to A.D. 1947): Significant events, personalities, issues, etc.
  • The Freedom Struggle- its various stages and important contributors/contributions from different parts of the country
  • History of Indian Culture will cover the salient aspects of Art Forms, literature, and Architecture from ancient to modern times.
  • Post-independence consolidation and reorganization within the country (till 1965A.D.).
  • The history of the world will include events from the 18th century to the middle of the 20th century such
    as the French revolution of 1789, the industrial revolution, World Wars, redraw of national boundaries, Socialism, Nazism, Fascism etc-their forms and effect on the society.
  • Salient features of Indian Society and culture.
  • Role of Women in society and women’s organization, population and associated issues, poverty and developmental issues, urbanization, their problems, and their remedies.
  • Meaning of liberalization, privatization, and globalization and their effects on the economy, polity, and social structure.
  • Social empowerment, communalism, regionalism & secularism.
  • Distribution of major natural resources of World- Water, Soils, Forests about South and South-East Asia with special reference to India. Factors responsible for the location of industries (with special reference to India).
  • Salient features of Physical Geography- Earthquake, Tsunami, Volcanic activity, Cyclone, Ocean Currents, winds, and glaciers.
  • Oceanic resources of India and their potential.
  • The human migration-refugee problem of the World with a focus on India.
  • Frontiers and boundaries concerning the Indian sub-continent.

  • Indian Constitution- historical underpinnings, evolution, features, amendments, significant provisions and basic structure, Role of Supreme Court in the evolution of basic provisions of Constitution.
  • Functions and responsibilities of the Union and the States: issues and challenges about the federal structure, devolution of powers, and finances up to local levels and challenges therein.
  • Role of Finance Commission in Centre-State financial relations.
  • Separation of powers, dispute redressal mechanisms, and institutions. Emergence and use of alternative dispute redressal mechanisms.
  • Comparison of the Indian constitutional scheme with that of other major democratic countries.
  • Parliament and State legislatures- structure, functioning, the conduct of business, powers and privileges, and concerning issues.
  • Structure, organization, and functioning of the Executive and the Judiciary: Ministries and Departments of the Government, Pressure groups, and formal/informal associations and their role in the Polity. Public Interest Litigation (PIL).

    • Bhai UPPCS ke liye English jaruri bhi nahi hai. Tum hindi me preparation kar sakte ho.NCERT se shuru kro fir standard books padho aur Hindi me Yuvayana.org par subject wise test series hain wo attempt kro.
