UPCATET 2023: UPCATET  or  Uttar Pradesh Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test is a competitive examination commenced every year for providing admission to Undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various fields of Agriculture and its related disciplines. The entrance test is conducted by four different participating universities – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut; Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur; Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faridabad; and Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, Banda. Eligibility for Post Graduate Courses:

  • M.Sc. (Community Science/Home Science) in Extension Education, Communication Management, Family Resource Management, Food Science & Nutrition, Human Development/Human Development and Family Studies, Textiles and Clothing, the applicant must have completed B.Sc.(H.Sc.)/B.Sc. Home Science (Hons.). Make sure to 10+2+4 years degree pattern (3 years degree holders are ineligible)
  • To do M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Biochemistry, the application must have done B.Sc.(Ag.)/B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.) / B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag. , B.Sc. Hort. (10+2+4 years degree).
  • To apply for Agril. Biotechnology, it is important that applicant must have done B.Sc.(Ag.)/B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.)/ B.Sc. (Hons.)Ag. /B.Sc.(Hort.)/B.Tech.(Biotech.)/(10+2+4 years degree)

Eligibility for Under Graduate Courses:

  • To apply for B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, (University Campus), B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, (Azamgarh Campus), B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture (Lakhimpur Kheri Campus), B.Sc. (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc. (Hons) Forestry, B. F. Sc. (Bachelor in Fisheries Science), the minimum qualification is Intermediate in Agri. Sci./PCB/PCM/PCMB
  • To apply for B.Sc. (Hons) Home Science/ Community Science (Only for Girls), the applicant must be an Intermediate in Art with Home Science as subject/PCB /PCM/ PCMB/Agri. Sci.

Age Criteria:

  • The University considers 17 years as the minimum age limit and 23 years as the maximum age limit specifically for courses such as BVS and C & AH.
  • However, for other courses, the minimum age limit is 16 years and the maximum age is 22 years
  • The SC/ST/OBC category candidates will get an age relaxation of 5 years.

UPCATET 2023 Application Form:

  • Scanned image of candidate’s photograph, signature, and right index fingerprint.
  • Caste Certificate
  • Disability Certificate

Steps to fill application form:

Here are the steps to apply for UPCATET 2023:

  1. Start with the registration process using the official website. Now, enter your name, valid email id, a working mobile number, and password.
  2. Fill in all the personal and educational details while filling the application form.
  3. Make sure to enter the correct details
  4. Submit the scanned copies of photograph, signature, impressions of left and right thumb in the prescribed format and size.
  5. Make sure to use your email ID rather than using anybody else’s
  6. Enter your correct and current mobile number for communication via SMS.
  7. The Registration Id of applicants will be sent via email or mobile number.
  8. Candidates need to use their enrollment id and password for further events.
  9. It is important to keep enrollment IDs and passwords safe.
  10. Once the application form is filled, applicants must take a print of the application form for further use.

General/OBC category applicants will submit 1250/- whereas SC/ST category applicants will pay 1050/-

For Under Graduate:

  • PCB Group Subjects General Studies, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will have 200 questions
  • PCM Group Subjects include General Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Maths and will have 200 questions
  • PAG Group subjects will be General Studies, Agril. Physics, Agril. Chemistry, Agril. Zoology, Agril. Botany, Agronomy, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Horticulture, Agril. Engineering, Agril. Statistics & Maths with 200 questions.

For Post Graduate:

  • M.V.Sc., MVS, subjects included General Studies, Vet. Microbiology, L.P.M., Surgery & Radiology, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Animal Nutrition, Physiology and Biochemistry, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Parasitology, Pathology, Epidemiology & Public Health, Gynaecology, Medicine, and Extension will have 200 questions.
  • M.SC. Biotechnology for group MTB includes subjects such as General Studies, Molecular Biology & Genetic Engg., Cell Biology, Pathology & Microbiology, Immunology / Animal Biotechnology, Biochemistry & Physiology, Commercial Biotechnology, Recombinant DNA Technology, Bioinformatics will have 200 questions.
  • M. SC. (Home Science), MHS subject will have subjects such as General Studies, Food and Nutrition, Home Management, Child Development, Home Science Extension Education, Clothing and Textiles, Statistics with 200 questions
  • M. Sc. (Ag.)/M. Sc. (Hort.) with MAG includes General Studies, Agronomy and Agrometeorology, Horticulture, Soil Science, Agril. Engg., Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Agril. Biotechnology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Extension Education, Entomology, Plant Pathology and Nematology, Agril. Economics, Seed Technology, Soil Conservation, Statistics, Biotechnology, and Forestry will have 200 questions.

There will be a deduction of 1 mark on every incorrect answer and the candidate will get 2 marks for a correct answer.

Admit Card:

The admit card for UPCATET 2023 will be released online at upcatet.org. Download the admit card by selecting the programme, group of paper, entering the registration number, password/date of birth. Take a print of the admit card to carry it to the examination centre. In case of an issue in downloading the admit card candidates can visit the admission office along with two latest passport-size photos and submit Rs. 100.

Steps to Download Admit Card:

  1. First visit the official UPCATET website: pcatet.org
  2. Click on the official link for ‘UPCATET Admit Card’
  3. Choose the programme, group of paper, enter registration number/roll number and date of birth
  4. After this, click ‘Login’
  5. Check the details mentioned in the admit card
  6. Take printouts for future reference

Note: Carry a relevant ID proof (Passport, Driving Licence, EC Voter ID Card, Adhar Card, IT Pan Card, or School / College photo-bearing ID Card) along with the print of the admit card to the exam centre.

Answer Key:

The answer key will be released few days after the exam gets over. The Answer Key will be published online on the website upcat.org. In case, candidates are not satisfied with the answer key, they can object by submitting a certain amount. Check the steps below in this regard:

  1. Go to www.upcatet.org
  2. Choose the option to file their objection.
  3. Fill in all the details asked for.
  4. After this, upload the scanned questions paper and highlight the questions disputed
  5. Pay the fee online for complaint

Exam Result:

The result will be announced in the online mode. Visit the website upcatet.org. to check the result. Enter your Registration ID and Roll Number in the login window and go through the result.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected for the desired course on the basis of rank achieved in UPCATET 2023. Though the selection process is straight and simple a slight different for MBA (Agriculture). The details about the same are as follows:

  • For MBA (Agriculture), the applicant will first appear for the entrance test
  • Then for Group Discussion which carries the weightage of 150 marks
  • And lastly for Personal Interview which carries the weightage of 50 marks
  • The selection of the candidates is based on the merit list.

Cut Off:

The cut-off list implies the minimum qualifying marks to clear UPCATET 2023 exam. Here are the details about the same:

  • General and OBC Category: 20 %
  • SC/ ST Category: 10 %

Note: The university may sometimes decrease the qualifying marks in case the seats are vacant.
