It is the responsibility of The Directorate of Medical Education for organizing the admission processes to the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) course in West Bengal. The Admission to the 2-year diploma programme will be fully based on a centralized process arranged by the Government of West Bengal. Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicant must have passed XII from a recognised board of education
• The subjects studied include Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics
• The minimum age to apply should be 17 years as of 1st June 2022 and the maximum 30 years as of 1st June 2022
• The candidate must be a citizen of India.
• Students residing in West Bengal for at least 10 Years continuously as of June 1st, 2022 may also apply
• Parents who permanently stay in West Bengal or acquired with the Permanent Addresses in the State are also applicable to apply.

The applicable/eligible candidates think ahead to apply for the course. The main admission procedure starts with the application process. In this regard, collect the application form using the official website. The application release date will be notified on the official website only, so keep on checking from time to time wbhealth.gov.in. The steps to apply are as follows:

1. Click Online Application Form Link available on the page
2. Go to another page, enter all the necessary details/fields with absolutely correct information
3. Once you enter the information, move forward to pay the application fee through Demand Draft way out.

Application Fee:

The application process becomes full and final by paying the application fee. Candidates from General and Unreserved Candidates will submit ₹500 whereas SC / ST / OBC and PwD applicants will pay ₹200. Submit the fee through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI.

WB Diploma Pharmacy Admission Selection Process:

In order to know the selection procedure, read the below-given guidelines:

• The ones who filled and submitted the application form and fee will be called for the selection process. According to the guidelines, the admission will be based on merit. Admission to the course finalized by counseling session.
• All entrants will go through the shortlisting process which is based on the marks obtained by them in Class XII board examination. Applicants must ensure that to have successfully completed theory and practical exam of each subject such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics.
• Then, a merit list will be released containing names and ranks. The ranks will be utilized for counseling procedures for providing admission to students having names in merit list.
• After the release of the merit list, the affiliated institutions will perform counseling round.

Merit Lists:

The merit list will be released on the official website containing candidates’ names, marks, and rank.  This list will be released on a fixed date, so wait for the same.

Counselling Process:

The subsequent release of the merit list will lead to the commencement of the counselling process. Overall, there will be three participating colleges, viz., Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri, Institute of Pharmacy Kalyani, and Institute of Pharmacy Bankura, allocating seats to the future students. Steps for counseling process will be as follows:

1. Go to the respective college with all the necessary documents asked for.
2. The then-candidate will go through a documents verification process in the order of the ranks acquired by the applicants and reservation quota, till all the seats have been assigned
3. Applicants will also sign the attendance sheet on the fixed date/time of the first counseling round. Those who fail to sign will not be part of counseling. Signed-in candidates will appear for 2nd round of counselling process if seats are left vacant.

Documents for Counselling Process:

On the first day of counseling, applicants will reach the counseling center with original as well as photocopy documents. Check the list of documents below:

• Hard Copy of Application Form
• Residential or Domicile Certificate issued and signed by the Competent Authority.
• Medical fitness (Mental and Physical) certificate, issued by a registered MBBS graduated medical practitioner.
• Eye Certificate issued by a registered eye specialist, proving the absence of colour blindness and the acumen of vision.
• Two Self-Attested copies of Birth Certificate or Class 10 (Madhyamik) Admit Card along with the original documents
• Two Self-Attested copies of the Class XII mark sheet or the equivalent exam.
• Three recent stamp-sized colour photographs
• Reservation certificate (if required)
• For PwD candidates, self-attested copy of PwD certificate, 2 passport-size photographs, age proof.
