WBCS 2024 Application Form:
- To apply for WBCS 2024, the candidate needs to provide the active mobile number, valid email address, father’s name, and mother’s name.
- After registration gets over, the candidate will receive an OTP to the candidate’s mobile number.
- Use the OTP and enroll in the online portal.
- An enrolment number and password will appear on the screen. This enrolment number will further be used during the application process.
- The size and dimension of the Photograph and Signature should be 100Kb at least. The dimension should be within 3.5 x 4.5 cm in size.
Application Fee:
The Application Fee for the General category is Rs.210/- + service charge and for SC/ ST/ PwD Category is Nil.

West Bengal Civil Services Exam Process to Apply:
- Go to the official website to apply for WBCS 2024 Exam (http://pscwbapplication.in/).
- Sign in with the enrolment number and password.
- Choose the Examination Name.
- You will find an examination form on the screen.
- Fill in all the personal details and click on the save along with the continue button mentioned at the bottom of the form.
- Upload the passport size photograph and signature in the prescribed size and format. Now, save and continue.
- Upload the mark sheets and certificates in the Add academic details section.
- After adding the academic details, add the preference for services and press save and continue.
- You will find a filled application form for the scrutiny.
- Go through the application form details once before making the final submission. Pay the application fee.
- Pay the application fee and submit the application form.
- After making payment of the application form, take a print for future reference.
WBCS 2024 Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate must be possessed with a degree from some recognized university and the ability to read and write Bengali but this is not required for those having Nepali as a mother tongue.
- The minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and the maximum should be 36 years. The age will be counted from January 1 of the exam year.
- There will be no age relaxation for those serving in the Government offices. The above age limit will be applicable for all the candidates except the following:
- Backward Classes of West Bengal (Non-Creamy Layer) will get age relaxation of 3 years and SC/ST category will get for 5 years
- For the PWD category, the relaxation in the upper age will be up to 45 years. However, S.C./S.T./B.C. category candidates of other States will be treated as General category candidates.
- For West Bengal Police Service (Group ‘B’ Service), the candidate’s minimum height should be 1.65 meters (male) and 1.50 meters (female) in the case of candidates belonging to races like Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese Tribals, etc.

Selection Process:
WBCS 2024 will be a two-stage exam process. The Prelims and Main exams will be part of the written stage and then the interview stage.
Stage 1: Preliminary exam will be commenced in the month of May and the result will be declared soon. A few days before the commencement of the exam, the admit card will be released to the candidates. The WBCS preliminary test will be an objective type test comprised General Studies Paper of 250 questions for 200 marks. The candidate will get two and a half hours to complete the paper. Those who successfully clear the preliminary exam will appear in Main Exam.
Stage 2: WBCS Main exam will consist of six mandatory papers and one optional subject with two papers (only for the candidates appearing for Group A or Group B services).
These six papers will be objective-type papers along with two optional subject papers that will be conventional types. There will be negative marking in the objective type papers of Prelims and Mains both.
Stage 3: The personal interview will consist of the following marks:
- For Group ‘A’ and ‘B’, 200 Marks
- For Group ‘C’, 150 Marks
- For Group ‘D’, 100 Marks
This round will help to test the candidate’s personal qualities such as alertness of mind, power of clear and logical exposition, intellectual and moral integrity, leadership, and the candidate’s range of interests. Each candidate will be asked a few questions on matters of general interest. There will be an announcement of the result after all the stages of the WBCS exam get over. After the final result, the candidate will appear for document and certificate verification.
Admit Card:
Admit card for WBCS 2024 will be issued a few days prior to the day of examination. Admit Card can be acquired from the official website. Steps to attain the admit card is as follows:
- Go to the official website link
- Now, enter your enrollment number or first name along with the date of birth.
- Once you download the admit card, check all the info mentioned in it.
- Take the print of the admit card for further reference.
Answer Key:
There will be the release of the Answer Key before the result announcement and after the exam is over. First, go to the official website WBPSC https://www.pscwbonline.gov.in, Now, click the Answer key link and you will find the Answer Key in PDF format. Check all the answers.
